Worth a look inside. Very unusual timbered galleries all round and the Louis XIV history of course. St Jean de Luz is rather pmeadsnt to wander round despite the tourist stuff.

The church is located in middle of town difficult to miss. It is where Luis XIV got married to Spanish princess. The door where the came out is now sealed however there is a marker and one can see the old door.
The inside of the church is all wood carvings beautiful. Almost in the back in hanging from ceiling is a vessel showing towns connection to sea.
Definitely a must see.

Lovely and quite different interior featuring a barrel ceiling and well thought through wooden elements ,so really quite basque in its style.Pleasant stained glass.
Historically known for the marriage of king Louis fourteenth.

This is a superb example of the Basque pilgrim churches. As with many of the local churches, this has the classical three level narrow balconies round the walls and the typical ornate alter. This church is, however, just better and more interesting than the others. It has a great feel to it

Having recently visited this town I wasn’t very impressed until I stumbled across this gem.
We were only spending. Half a day in the town, but from everything I saw there wasn’t much on offer apart from restaurants and a few tourist shops. That was until I found this church.

Being a sucker for architecture and historic buildings I popped my head inside and it so glad I did. Inside was incredible. I strongly recommend anyone visiting goes here!
