We arrived at the Ibis after a long drive, only to find it was the more expensive one. After 600 km, we were too tired to drive round town to find the budget one we had booked into and upgraded, thanks to the nice receptionist. It cost 78E instead of 60E but was comfortable.
A chain hotel, it has everything in house, including a restaurant, which was just as well as le Puy, a beautiful and spectacular town, has almost nowhere to eat! (This was April - maybe they were still in bed!)
There is little to add. The Ibis is the equivalent of the British Premier Inn; very efficient at what it does but with few frills to make you feel cosseted.
As I said, the receptionist was very helpful, a real ambassador for her hotel. There are probably more interesting hotels in town but, if you're passing through, this does the job adequately
