We stayed at Les Menhirs for 11 nights from 19th August. The weather was fabulous. We had stayed at Les Menhirs last year and returned as we enjoyed it so much. We travelled with Eurocamp from Plymouth to Roscoff overnight. We hadn't realised that we would be woken at 4.30 (British time) and had to leave the the ferry by 5.30 (6.30 local time). After a bit of a shock awakening we made our way to Carnac by 9.30. We went for a walk around the town until 11.30 then checked in. We were very pleased that our mobile home was ready for us and were shown to it by Eurocamp rep Fallon who was very helpful. Les Menhirs is a nice camp with friendly staff. There is an outdoor pool with two slides which is very well supervised. There is also an indoor pool (with limited opening times). There is a tennis court, table tennis, snooker tabe, football cage and a gym. There are various classes such as aquarobics during the day. My two boys aged 15 and 13 had a great time. They played football every evening with all nationalities joining in together. Each morning there is fresh bread and croissants delivered to the camspite shop which are delicious. The shop is quite small and only sells a limited amount of goods however there is a Super U supermarket about five minutes drive away which sells everything including petrol. The town of Carnac Plage is a typical seaside town and has shops, cafes and restaurants it is quite lively in the evening and is only about five to ten minutes walk away. The old town of Carnac is worth a visit it is about half an hours walk from the camspite. There is a craft market on Thursday evenings at six o'clock by the old church. Another great place to visit is Auray there is a market on Monday morning and then you can walk to St. Gustan across the bridge which is a really picturesque port. On site there is a laundry with plenty of washers and driers. The main beach of Carnac is only about five minutes walk away and there are plenty of other beaches a short drive away. My family and I would definitely recommend Les Menhirs for a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday. Storage is quite limited in the mobile homes for clothes and food. We took some food supplies with us in a large sealable plastic box which we then used to store food in the mobile home. There are quite a few insects about so this was useful. We had a mobile home with decking which was great and provided extra room.
