The little train up from Port en Dro or La Trinité is definitely the way to see round if you have young children. Its a shame, although understandable, that there is very limited access to the alignments now. It would also be helpful if there was some kind of cafe at the visitors centre.

Fascinating the there are over 3000 stones all lined up in rows. No one really knows why. But it is a good diversion for a day. You can walk around the outside and see the formations just fine. English tours are only offered once every three days, but you don’t need a tour unless you want to get up close to the stones. Stop at visitor center to get ideas of other places to visit in the area where you can see stones and vaults up close.

No one knows why stones like these were erected. There are 3 sites with 4 lines stretching over a kilometre. Over 3,000 stones were erected. It is quite a sight. I found a group of megalithic at Erdeven and some were over 15 feet high with avenues leading to a rough circle. Well worth checking out.

This surprisingly large site with its hundreds of standing stones is quite awe inspiring and visually stunning. The areas of standing stones probably stretch across several grassy field areas for probably near a mile. There is a car park and visitor centre with Public Toilets and there is some seating available for picnicking.

This is an amazing Stone Age site, make sure you visit the visitor centre first.

You will find maps etc in different languages, but inside the visitor centre we found only French speaking video, audio & subtitles which wasn’t a problem, but I couldn’t fully follow all of it due to quick speaking on screen.

The staff here are excellent and very welcoming, friendly.

I would say this is a great way to spend at least 2/3 hours visiting.

We noticed people of all ages making the most of the site.
