First time I’ve been camping and I did it with 11 of my in-laws, asking for trouble you may think.

Caravan: enough space for the kids to run around and plenty of decking made the caravan feel much bigger than it was, on the one occasion it rained I realised how small the space can be with 3 kids.

Location: too far to walk to the sea, but a short drive and you can be in Carnac or the beach.

Bar: live acts every night which ranged from decent bands to amateurish musicals, pretty friendly place to spend a few hours.

Kids disco: our kids were too small for the clubs which start aged 4, but they looked forward the disco every night at 8pm.

Pools: these were excellent, indoor pool was great for getting out of the sun. Little kids loved the lazy river which carried them around in the flowing water. Pools were very clean.

Food: Restaurant was nice and reasonably priced, takeaway which did pizza, pasta, chips and lot of other unhealthy food came in handy, and the shop sells just about everything you could need (at a premium to the supermarket).

I recommend spending some time around Carnac Plage if you want a night out, great mix of bars and restaurants to suit any budget, Taxi was 12 euro from Carnac back to the site, we just asked in the restaurant and one turned up ten mins later.

Stayed with touring caravan, 2 boys (age 9 and 13) and dog. Booked a large pitch with electric, water and waste - both water (standard screw fit) and waste required very long pipes. Fortunately we were at the furthest end away from the entertainment that went on till 11pm each night and was quite noisy. Pool area is the key attraction, but also lots of other sports stuff. Useful shop on site, a little pricey but not unrealistic unless you shop there every day.
As mentioned before, be at the pool by 10am to reserve a lounger.
Location for Carnac (15 mins on bikes, fairly flat), Super U (5 mins in car), standing stones 2 mins walk. Favorite beach was Trinte-sur-Mer but check the tide as it goes along way out.

A bit worried about reading of the sickness but no sign of it. Staff were very friendly when we turned up showed us to the pitch. Toilet block 3 was very clean. The children enjoyed the pool was a little upset as took a picnic in with us as rules said as long as we took food waste away it was ok then the life guard came up and told us we can't couldn't see any signs to say so but lots of other guests were eating and nothing said so tried again then and was told off so asked to see were the notice is he seems a little put out but showed me a little tiny sign above the pool welcome sign which blow over in wind. This a side we all really enjoyed our holiday a will stay the again. The campsite went quite most nights by midnight

What can I say about this place - it's a campsite. We stayed in a static caravan courtesy of Keycamp which had everything we needed, was clean and in full working order with a nice decking area and a barbecue. Our frontage looked out on the frontage of our neighbour 15 feet away which was OK but meant a wee bit of enforced "minding your own business" if you know what I mean. There is loads of stuff to do. We took our kids on the high ropes/zipwire, pony rides, mini-golf and (obviously) the pool area which is very nice. I did have my trainers pinched at the pool but serve me right for leaving a brand new pair of daps unattended on the rack - wear flip flops or tatty crocs would be my advice. The megalithic "alignements" line the roads approaching the campsite from either direction and they make for a very pretty post-prandial ramble in the sunset. The restaurant is nice but a little on the dear side and the bar does a quarter-decent pint of Guinness. I've also stayed at the Menhirs campsite (at Carnac Plage) with Keycamp and overall I think I preferred that as it's much closer to the beaches restaurants and bars, even if it is smaller and a bit more basic. If your kids need constant amusement however, this place is probably a better bet.

We stayed in our own touring caravan. As a novice tow driver the site was easy to get to, but the pitch we had was a little tricky to manouevre the van on arrival/departure as had to negotiate a tight turn with a lampost! (a motor mover you would have no problems though). Our grass pitch was a bit lacking in, erm, grass though!
Toilet block was very modern, spotless and excellent, although I would agree there does need to be liquid soap provided (especially if they had had an outbreak of norovirus).
Plenty do do for young kids, the zip wire was excellent. Pools and slides were fantastic. Circus visiting on site was a bonus.
Staff were overall friendly, especially on reception. The notable exception was one very rude waitress in the restaurant whose customer service skills were extremely lacking. I was ignored and made to wait almost 10 minutes at an otherwise empty bar just to pay for an ice-cream out of the self-serve freezer, whilst she continued the clearly much more important task of making 3 cocktails. It would have taken 10 seconds to take my money. Appalling.
