The hotel had nice and very clean rooms. I would definitly recommend breakfast! The local marmelades tasted great. The location couldn't be better. A little walk to the walled town and the marketplace.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June 2013 and I can understand why it is currently the #1 rated hotel in Concarneau. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and have no complaints. However, there are a few aspects that might be of interest to others who are thinking of staying there.

Our room was on the second floor. When you come out of the lift on that floor, there is a very loud hum in the corridor. I was not able to determine the source of the hum but, as soon as we entered our room and closed the door, we could no longer hear the hum. So it wasn’t a problem for us. However, it is possible that the hum might be audible in other rooms. If I had had to try to sleep listening to that hum, it would have driven me crazy!

Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road. At night, this road is very quiet and, as we prefer to sleep without air conditioning, we were able to keep the window open for ventilation and still sleep peacefully. The road becomes busy by about 07:30 in the morning but, as we are generally up by 07:00, it just wasn’t a problem for us. However, guests who like to rise late would probably prefer to keep the window closed and use the air conditioning.

The specialty jams at breakfast were not exactly to my liking. I am sure that many guests really appreciate such jams but, personally, I prefer plain fruit jams (such as apricot or strawberry), not flavoured or scented with anything else.

It is worth noting that, if you make your reservation directly with the hotel, either by phone or by email, there is no charge for parking your car in the hotel car park.

found this fabulous little hotel quite accidentally via tourist office brochure, stayed one night on way to ferry, really enjoyed it and would definitely go back, very central, you can walk everywhere, car park opposite ( 6.50 euros per night ), really comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, free wifi, nicely furnished, breakfast was delicious ( 10 euros ), loved it, very clean,

Found the hotel on Internet when looking for somewhere suitable for someone of limited mobility. From first contact they were extremely helpful and welcoming. Like the fact that secure parking is available, like that room includes a FREE safe, like free clear Wifi. Loved the friendly welcome and coffee on arrival, guess we looked exhausted and frazzled. Loved the breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly boiled eggs, good selection of everything else.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Location just a short stroll, perhaps 750m to Isle.
Only downside is fact that hotel is situated about 30 metres from traffic lights on busy road meant that couldn't really leave windows open.
Actually there was another downside, we had to leave but hope to return sometime.

It was my wife who wrote the previous review and I've told her off for not giving this hotel a 5 rating! It's not the hotel's fault that she always sleeps with an open window due to her asthma! Anyway it's usually me that suffers from any noise - not her. I've tried to redress her score my awarding this place top marks. We would definately stay here again and I concur with the rest of her review. Thanks for a lovely, welcoming stay!

We stayed for one night in this hotel in October 2012. We were travelling on a motorcycle and arrived very wet and cold! Understandably the hotel could not help us directly to dry our coats etc, however, they were very welcoming and pointed us in the direction of a "Laverie" just a few minutes walk away - sorted - lovely dry and warm clothes all ready for the following day.
The hotel was very near the Old City - just a few minutes walk and the secure parking was one of the reasons we booked it.
The room was spotless, comfortable bed and good shower.
The only reason why I have not given it 5 stars is the traffic noise which did keep my husband awake some of the night. I do, however, realise that this is the price you pay for being in such a great location.
A little bit of traffic noise was soon forgotten when we arrived downstairs for breakfast. Most definitely the best hotel breakfast we have ever had in France - lots of choice - including freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious croissants, breads and preserves, fruit, yogurts, cereals, hams, cheeses and the option to do yourself boiled eggs.
When we next visit Concarneau this will be the place we stay. Looking forward to the breakfast already!

Dear client,

We are very glad and thank you for your compliments after your stay with us at the hotel.
As you mentionned, the hotel is located nearby the Ville Close and the local restaurants, wich is very appreciated to enjoy city life in the evening. As this asset can also be loud, all windows have been changed last winter to offer a very comfortable sound (double glazing).
For a quiet night it is highly recommanded to sleep windows closed, with the air condition on, you can forget the city around.
We hope to see you again in Concarneau, for a sunny stay that time !

The small hotel is located on the Rue de la Gare, about 2 blocks from the port and the Villa Close. The hotel provides secure parking in a small gated lot across the street. Another review mentioned "recently refurbished", it seemed almost new to me it was so clean and neat. The furnishings were of high quality (multiple pillows, duvet, excellent mattress) and the basics (storage, writing desk--with 2(!) free outlets!) were modern and functional. The bathroom had a full bath and shower attachment with a splash screen for the shower. The WiFi signal was strong in the room as well as elsewhere. There is a fitness room on the 1st floor, but I did not use it. The breakfast room was bright and cheerful, even for those with morning grumpiness, and I was able to get granola and yogurt--something often unavailable in traditional French hotel breakfast rooms. The orange juicer machine must be seen to be believed. The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating, with good recommendations for restaurants. Although the hotel fronts on a busy street, the double-glazed, fully functional window, and the electronically operated roll-down screen completely blocked any traffic noise, including the angry wasp noise of scooters. You may be able to book directly with the hotel for less than the online hotel services, but it was very reasonably priced when I booked it online. Easy walking distance to the
Villa Close, restaurants, and the port and away from the noise and bustle of the pedestrian and market area there.
