Chose this hotel based on availabilty, as we were sailing from St Malo the following morning. What a charming surprise! Dinan itself is wonderful, lots of restaurants, masses of great buildings to admire and history to soak up.

Our room was fresh and welcoming, great comfy bed. Superb garden to relax and enjoy a drink. Mostly what brings this hotel to be one of my favourites is the friendliness of the staff. I didn't get the young lady's name who welcomed us, but she deserves a raise Nicholas! great job.

The owner had made comments by email to the effect that one night was not enough for our stay in that region -- what business is it of his to comment on my travel plans? And when we declined the 14-euro breakfast for the morning, he made more comments. Because of this, it was not pleasant to be around him. I had trouble unlocking my bedroom door (the lock was very temperamental) and he showed irritation that he had to come up and help me. The room was nice with two big windows overlooking the garden, and the beds were comfortable. We did not eat in the restaurant but he recommended a great place overlooking the river and city walls. I liked Dinan, the castle and winding streets are very picturesque.

Room Tip: We only saw one room

This hotel was wonderful. We had to park across the street when we first got there. The person at the desk warned us we would have to move the car since the market was the next day in the parking lot. He watched the spaces out front of the hotel. When one became free he called our room and stood in the spot until we came down to move the car-Amazing service. The room was a delight. A bit noisy on the main street, but we did not want to pay the extra 40 Euros to be on the garden side, which I am sure was a lot more quiet. The breakfast the next morning was delicious, fresh fruit, amazing croissants andother breads and much more. The woman even remembered how my husband liked his coffee the next morning. Great convenient location to the old town and restaurants. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks to all

We spent two delightful nights here: room overlooking lovely garden on ramparts was delightful including excellent bathroom; perfect continental breakfast, pleasant lounge with contemporary decor, efficient staff and owner. Excellent restaurants across the square e.g. Cantorbery recommended by the hotel; easy open-air parking across the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view room - extra cost.

We spent two nights in this hotel in October and found it friendly, clean, contemporary in style downstairs and very comfortable. Our room was spacious with a lovely garden/rampart view. Its only 10meters across the square to the cobblestone alleys of the old town and parking in the square was never a problem at least in October.

We spent several hights at this lovely hotel in Brittany. The staff was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was delightful, with a lovely view of the gardens (which are also provide an outdoor bar and seating area), and the city rapmparts. The furnishings were eclectic but clean and neat and very spacious, with a sitting area, flat screen, and extra beds ( We were up graded to a family room) The bathroom and closet were also spacious. The main lobby and breakfast room/bar were newly refurbished and quite lovely and modern. The breakfast was wonderful with a variety choices in meats cheeses and you could even get soft or hard boiled eggs. Dinan itself was a very neat city on the River Rance with high ramparts surrounding it entirely, and a somewhat steep walk down to the river. Good food, interesting stores and if you are there on market day, be sure to go. Everything from pastry and veggies to horse meat, clothing, shoes, bags anything you may want. The hotel is well located for seeing it all. A wonderful value for the Euro
