“Intimate cottage from which to explore rural Brittany”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

It is, as others have mentioned, a small cottage. Downstairs is a kitchen/living room/diner with a lovely wood burning stove. I stayed in late April when the weather was just staring to warm and very much appreciated the stove fire in the evening.
The sun was out when we arrived and the lawn garden round the back of the cottage was dotted with colourful flowers through the grass. It set the tone of the following exploration of Brittany brillantly.
It was a short bike ride away to the nearest supermarket & more importantly, the local boulangerie- overflowing with delicious pastries and bonhomie. Not much further from there is the wonderful medieval town of Dinan, sitting atop the hill over the valley of La Rance with it's riverside bars and cobbled lanes.
Getting back to the cottage in the evenings, we made easy use of the induction hob to cook fresh local fish.
Upstairs, it is a little small. In the toilet/shower room, I needed to stoop or sit down to use the loo. The shower however, was working fine (I've read to the contrary here & don't understand what can have gone wrong). The bedrooms are small but cosy. The floor creaks a little but I found that to be part and parcel of the place's charm.
I'd recommend it for a romantic getaway, to make full use of the intimacy that it encourages.

“Lovely place but not for little children”
Reviewed 30 March 2015 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed in this lovely cottage last summer. It was so cosy and well equipped. The owners gave us everything we needed and plenty of directions and advice for the area. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen/living area was so charming and cosy. The fruits gardens were great but it was a shame the fruit had not been picked for the cottages consumption. So many plums and apples went to waste, The garden also needs up-keeping. This cottage would be perfect for couple or 3 people but any more and it would be too cramped. Its a very small cottage. We had a tiny baby and a small toddler. Whilst the cottage was so beautiful and cosy the place is not great for children and there isn't much to do or anything close by for them to play on (playground etc). The place didn't have a washing machine which we found was a down side for us however, we knew this when we booked but we just didn't think about the amount of washing we'd be doing stupidly, especially with two small children. The only thing I would say that needs attention is the shower/toilet. The toilet is fine but there should be a warning that anyone over 5ft 5 wont be able to stand above the toilet plus the shower needed serious attention and upgrading. I would recommend this charming retreat but certainly not for those travelling with little ones. Perfect for everyone else.
