“A friendly historical city”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

Dinan historical centre is really amazing. Everything is very well maintained and the traveler has the impression of being transported to the medieval ages.

“High heels are a no go”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

A Very pretty town centre with a good map from the tourist office to show you were to go. Lots of interesting houses and churches to see. Also the essential shops and art boutiques.
Warning to all GOOD FOOTWEAR IS NECESSARY. Most of the streets are cobbled and high heels or candles are not good. If you have children be prepared to carry them at some point, pushchairs are not ideal.
I would strongly recommend turning around and facing the way you have come from if following the map so as to take extra photos that otherwise you would not think of.
The map says it takes about 2 hours for the circuit however if your partner stops and looks in every shop then and alot more time on.
Once again an enjoyable time in good weather.

“picturesque town”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

Dinan is a beautiful town we visited on a day trip from Dinard. The stroll down to the river was great. We travelled to Dinad by road, but cruises from Dinard and St. Malo are available if you have a few hours more to spare.

“A fascinating town to explore”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

This is a fascinating medieval town that dates from the 13th century. Many of the old buildings still overhang the narrow streets and it is not difficult to imagine what it was like centuries ago. We had intended to walk for about an hour - but it was so fascinating that it took us four. It is well worth going onto the city walls and getting a wonderful view of the River Rance and its winding valley below. You can also walk down the narrow streets to the river itself - but you may need to stop at a cafe or two on the way back.
