Nice surprise, just walk around, eat gallettes, the best creme brûlée I've ever had, musicians playing medieval instruments… awesome

It is true vacation to walk the old streets of Dinan. You can watch the old houses, look down a narrow lane or enjoy a galette for lunch while you are looking af the relaxing city life. Try to visit Dinan on a thursday and visit the local market

Dinan is just beautiful. It's a fabulous place to wander around either with or without purpose! Park by the viaduct and walk up the (long, steep) hill to the centre - it's spectacular.

We stopped off here on the way to Mont St Michel after numerous recommendations. It is a really beautiful historical centre well worth passing through and spending some time visiting the many sites.

Came to Dinan as a Base for exploring Brittany, and rarely wished to go out for the day. The historic medieval village is truly amazing, the architecture and history a delight, simply wandering the little lanes and exploring on foot was a real pleasure. There is a steep stroll down to the Port of Dinan, but worth it, along the way you find a number of arts and crafts shops, which were lovely and some good cafes at the bottom to fortify you for the trip back up. Although you miss some of the unique little shops you could always get the little train down to the port, or even take the car - the parking is free on the other side of the river. The medieval village is full of restaurants and creperies, some better than others; use trip advisor to make your choices. We have enjoyed being here for the week, if you are in the area Dinan is an absolute must for a days visit, you will not be disappointed.
