Good location and very clean and tidy. However very noisy outside up until 5 am in the morning. The reception staff refused to issue the remote controls for the air conditioning because it was 'to early in the year' (End of May!) and it was impossible to open the windows due to the continual noise outside. The breakfast which was expensive was a joke with hardly anything available. What there was ran out very quickly and despite asking the staff took ages to refill and that was just things like coffee and fruit juice. Even things like bread ran out and just wasn't replaced. This will all be the subject of a complaint to Accor.

Tired, shabby rooms. Noisy bar on ground floor and people in the street throughout the night. No air conditioning despite being advertised on website. Breakfast overpriced and little choice with one member of staff slowly refilling some of the cheaper items but containers for cooked items remained empty.

whilst we got the parking for free, the room (not mentioned at check in) was a smoking room, the "trick" to open the door was not mentioned, the heating was not on and the A/C control was missing! Result a smelly, cold room! Location good..try this one but ask for what you want.... oh and the trick? once you turn the key, pull the door towards you the door opens.....how simple would that have been to tell us rather than having to go down to reception again to bring the receptionist up and have her tell us????????????????
If it's cold, check if the heater is working................. if it;s hot ask if you can have the remote!

Looks like Mercure may have too many business customers who do not, unlike me, foot the bill themselves. Bad bed support, no alcohol license, despite advertisement to that effect in the room. I am no drinker, I just needed a beer and a good night sleep - got neither. I have to say the employees offered me a friendly and warm welcome (unlike the unapologetic indifferent courtesy of the departure). Overlooked details and the unappealing anonymous decoration would be acceptable at a lower rate but better get a good night sleep somewhere else.

i spent 5 days in this hotel , i can say that it was less than i expect for mercure series , it has a very good location in the middle of the city from which you can reach any place in rennes , however , the hotel is too small , very narrow rooms , no mini bar , no water boiler , only french channels on the TV ,

for the stuff , they are very friendly and helpful , the breakfast is somehow good in the french style

Room Tip: good luck for your room

If you're staying in Rennes, this hotel is very close to the center of the city, so you can easily walk to the major shopping streets and restaurants. This is the main reason I give it an Average rating.

The quality of the room was not very good. It was very small, filled entirely by the bed, no minibar, and not even space to put your luggage in. I also had a strange incident with another guest accidentally opening my door from the outside, even when I thought it was locked. (The locks used old-fashioned keys and it was difficult to make sure they are locked.)

Also, the breakfast was rather poor, consisting mainly of croissants and coffee. I would not recommend to pay for it but find a real restaurant or cafe instead.

Stayed here for one night in August and thankfully for one night only. It's only saving grace was its location. The room was featureless and dull, with poor quality furniture and a lingering cigarette smoke smell. The bathroom only had one bath towel which was odd for a double room and we had to ask for an extra towel. The air conditioning kept cutting out and you couldn't open the window as mosquitos were everywhere.

It was a depressing experience. Thankfully, Rennes is a lovely city especially on market day (Saturday).

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.
