“Cool interior on a hot day”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Peaceful low key environment to contemplation and lighting a candle for lost loved ones. Nice rustic bakery just around the corner for a warm baguette.

“Not the best Cathedral in Rennes by a long chalk”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

You will enjoy this cathedral if you like 50 fat pink marble columns, 20 small boring stained-glass windows depicting coats of arms, and half a square mile of gold leaf decorating walls and ceilings. But the gem in this city is the Basilica Saint-Aubin. This has a serene atmosphere, wonderful architecture and huge, stunning stained-glass windows. The building is a great work of art - human creativity at its best. It is emotionally moving to sit in and admire with your jaw dropped.

“Breathtaking!”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Please don't miss stopping in to see this site. The history and story about this cathedral is interesting. It's near the medieval area of the city. Definitely worth the stop. But if you go on Sunday, beware it closes early.

“Fantastic restoration”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

Well worth the long trip from Paris. One of those places that more people should know about and also one which should tell more people about itself! Almost magical and particularly special to visit in the middle of winter without hoards of tourists. Thank-you!

“A SACRED PLACE”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

This is a beautiful Cathedral to visit. A great deal of restoration has been done and it is very splendid inside. Yet there is still a very prayerful atmosphere and it is possible to sit quietly and pray or reflect. I have visited the Cathedral twice in the last year and will go back next time I am in Rennes.
