We happened on this place just walking around one day. It's an oyster and wine bar located in a food hall of sorts and shares the space with lots of interesting little butchers, deli's and the like. It was the oysters laid out that caught my eye so we decided to grab a stool and try some out, so glad we did! Eating here was one of the highlights of our whole trip. The oysters were shucked to order and smacked of the sea and the minionette was perfect. Tiny mussels were sweet and plum and done in a cream sauce that managed to still be quite light, these were served with lovely little cubes of fried potato. As spot on as the food was the best part however was Nono! Eating here was like going to lunch and a show. Nono was a delightful human to have come across and had everyone eating and drinking there in stitches, a true performer who knows how to work his crowd. It may sound cheesy but we actually felt very welcome not only by Nono but the lovely locals we met while there who helped us with the language barrier and arranged to meet us there in two days time, which we did. More oysters and the beef tartare this time which was again just so fresh and simple with great quality beef used. Portions are generous and price is very good, would happily pay double for the experience and fun of it all. Can't wait to visit Rennes again just so we can pop in!
