“Comfort & Peaches”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

We spent one night here before getting the ferry home. After a long drive on a hot day this hotel was an oasis of cool and comfort. The room was very good, spacious and carefully furnished as is the whole hotel. It is an old manor house. There is a pleasant quiet garden with deck chairs & sun loungers. The breakfast was wonderful, the fresh juicy peaches excellent. The owner is charming & speaks English. He also recommends some very good restaurants. We would certainly stay here again.

Le Manoir is a difficult place to find in not the best, or most convenient, part of St Malo but once inside the gates all of that is forgotten. On entering the property you are transported back in time. The owner claims to be related to Robert Surcouf, a notable Corsiar, and the house has the feeling of being a showcase for antiques and interesting artefacts. The room in which I stayed is a tribute to Jules Verne complete with "Montgolfier balloon", old trunks and suitcases, diving helmets, old telescope and stuffed mini crocodile on a shelf! It sounds weird but in fact is very comfortable and not off putting. The breakfast, set out in a magnificent dining room, is generous and you are free to walk around the impressive garden. In such an old house there are a couple of quirky things, such as noisy bathroom taps and temperamental WC flushing mechanisms but that adds to the charm of the place.

Room Tip: If staying in the Armateur suite make sure that at least one (or two if four sharing) is able to get...

This is a must stay place in Saint Malo. We were welcomed into the owners 350 year old home and stayed two nights while visiting Mon Saint Michel and the old Saint Malo town. A choice of very large and comfortable period furnished rooms. Stunning bathrooms and all exceptionally clean. Our bedroom was the governors room and very large, looked over the back garden with two little gypsy caravans which could also be booked! The breakfast was normal continental style butchery scummy with fresh hot croissants and pastries as well as bread and yoghurt/fruit. A little out of the Main Street of town but easily accessible if yo have a car. I was so amazing to be able to stay in such a residence and feel like a queen. I wish I could have stayed longer.get directions to the best restaurant in all of France Down the old town of Saint Malo.....l'Atre. It had the best seafood meal, superb presentation, tastes and service. Very reasonably priced too ( I have reviewed it already on tripadvisor.

Room Tip: The Governors room was beautiful with a king size bed. The second main bedroom had an attic room off...
