2nd time we had stayed at this hotel in St Malo. We chose it again as they now have a secure garage nearby (extra charge). However, I was a little disappointed with our room on 5th floor. Rather basic for the cost, noisy when windows open (very stuffy) as near nightclub which chucked at 4.15am! The bathroom was clean & bed comfortable & location inside city walls obviously demands a premium. Wifi was available in our room but safe did not work, tv only showed French channels.
Did not have breakfast there as quite an expensive extra. Plenty of cafes serving coffee & croissant nearby.

Room Tip: We were in main building which we understand is better than the annexe

We were six cyclists from Exeter/Bath and we stayed at the Hotel Elizabeth on our sixth night in Brittany after cycling 207 miles. The position right in the centre of the "Intra-Muros" is perfect and St Malo is a real gem of a place. We saw the best sunset I had seen since Bali in December 2012! The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. This was indeed a B and B but that gave us the chance to go to a restaurant of our choosing which was in fact recommended by the receptionist. The rooms and beds were exceptionally comfortable with a separate loo and bathroom, which is unusual. The breakfast room in the basement was atmospheric and the breakfast was one of the best of the week.

This hotel was listed as 3 star
It is simply a B &B.
We were placed in an adjoining building, with a narrow stair case, , on 3rd flood.
Just as well we just had overnight cases.
Breakfast was fine.
We stayed in other hotels, during this trip, all 3 star, but had lifts, better rooms, and bar facilities.

Room Tip: Research better than we did. The person in charge had no English, so we could not complain,we have...

We had 2 nights here at the end of a weeks bike touring holiday. Our room was in the annex part of the hotel on the top floor and we picked this hotel because of the secure garage for our bikes. The staff were really helpful and our room was very clean and comfortable and excellent value for money. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town but only a short walk from the bars, beaches and restarants. Will def be revisiting st Malo and this lovely little hotel.

Though I had been notified that our room would be in the annex, I didn't realize that it meant that the room would be such a different class than the main building. When we arrived, we had a bit of a hard time finding parking but finally did. The young lady who checked us in was incredibly kind, but we wish she would have told us that we could drop our things right in front of the annex, instead of dragging our (many) things for a block and a half. The room was disappointingly small and had not the least drop of charm. There was no place for our luggage, the bathroom was the smallest I have ever had, and the room was hot, uncomfortable, and there was a streetlamp right outside our room and shined in all night, making it hard to sleep.

The location was the only saving factor.

I would not recommend this hotel.

We arrived for our 3 night pre-booked stay late on Sunday afternoon. We were told we had to drop our bags at the hotel and try to park the car in the public car park outside intra Muros. It was summer and we had to queue for quite a while to get in. Shortly before we left, we found out that the hotel has a garage, but nobody told at the hotel had told us when could have used the information.

We were in the annexe, again something we had not been told about. Our room was up several flights of stairs with no fire escape. We asked to be moved and were told that we could move for our second and third nights. This room was in the main building was much nicer and with a fire escape route. All good, except that we were not told the room was more expensive than the room we were vacating until we were checking out, too late to make a decision.

One young woman on reception was consistently friendly and helpful, but none of the other staff seemed to care less.

Saint-Malo is a great city and intra Muros is the place to be. We will definitely return, but not to this hotel.

Room Tip: Insist on a room in the main building.

Nice welcome even though we arrived at 11.50pm, easy location inside the walls, close to bars restaurants beaches. We booked 2 nights, then another 1 night a few days later.
Our booking didn't state that we were in the Skippers annexe however that's where our room was and it was uncomfortably small and there was nowhere to put clothes except the floor. The room should have had a fridge but didn't. On arrival we were unable to adjust the thermostat in the shower which was cold, it was now after midnight. The following day we realised that the room was not the one we booked but the hotel staff would NOT agree even though I had the booking form and pointed out the difference between the two bookings - our 1 night a few days later clearly stated that we were in the Skippers annexe. The worst thing was that they charged us for the 2 night stay at the rate for the room we didn't have.

Had an expensive cup of coffee in the entrance lounge only because the breakfast was also expensive.

I would not recommend this hotel and would go so far as to say don't go there.
