“Beautiful Stay in St Malo”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Very nice stay in St Malo, beautiful weather. Anyway, take some warm clothes !
2 nights in family in 2 large Emeraud Rooms.
Great breakfast and dinners in the Cap Horn Restaurant.
" Thermes marins " Spa is still the best for reenergizing soul and body !

Room Tip: Any room with a preference for 2, 3 or 4th Floors, near elevator to go easily to the spa. Quiet on...

Our updated room in the Grande Hotel des Thermes was flawless. We had a corner room which gave us a bigger area than the same rooms with small balconies. The bed was comfortable and the room darkening curtains did a great job of keeping out the light. The bath was huge and modern and boasted a heated towel rack that was great for overnight drying of bathing suits and under things. We did not have a beach room so the view out the window was not great, but the beach was just a step away. We used the huge therapy pool on several occasions, moving through different water features, jets and warm baths. It could become addictive it was so comfortable. The only flaw could be crowds. The first time we used it very few people were there and we could enjoy the features at our leisure. The second time it was crowded and filled with teenagers and was not quite as relaxing. The service at the restaurants for breakfast and dinner was second to none. A walk along the beautiful beach at low tide took us to the walled town of St. Malo in 50 minutes.

We recently stayed at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much.
The room was very large and was ocean front...only didn't have air conditioning (which we found strange for a 5* hotel). It also looked a bit dated and needed some upgrading (wall paper patches, etc.)...but I guess the hotel is considered very "shiek" and can get away with some things other hotels might not.
I don't want to imply we didn't enjoy the stay...we did...only that we were surprised!
The dining room and other facilities were excellent and the location couldn't be beat.
In spite of the minor observations, we would stay here again!

This beautiful property is especially popular spa retreat for new Mother's, their infants and husbands. What a wonderful idea! A rest for a week seaside. Rooms on the ocean are reserved for all new Mother's. Therefore, be prepared to take a back seat -- or a room with no view! Rooms are very small, but charming. Small balcony was sunny and pleasant and we really didn't mind little room with no view. Everything was lovely, bathrooms were wonderful. Dinners our two nights, trying both the main dining room and the ocean restaurant, were delicious. Indoor pool, no pool oceanside, but very pretty solariums with lounge chairs - bathing suits welcome. Bathrobes worn to breakfast surprised me! Don't miss the wonderful walled city of St. Malo and the birthplace of Monsieur Chateaubriand. Fancinating history.

We arrived to this grand property after a huge rain storm. The calming of the surf set the seen. We made our reservations for the spa treatments at once.
The rooms were small and outdated but worked since we were there only one night. Best to upgrade from a basic room. The dinner was fine nothing over the top but instead of a 20 minute cab ride we decided to stay in.
They had a good garage and parked the car for us.
The hotel is huge, on the beach and therea re many places to just relax or go for a long walk.

The hotel is still very nice, has its best times probably before. The staff at reception could be nicer, they never smile. The restnof the personal is very friendly, at the breakfast we received excellent service. At the restaurant the service varied very much depending on the service personal and was usually at lunch time better than at dinner. The bread is out ofmthismworld and you have to taste the bread served with the cheese. It is so good, the food in general is good. The lamb is incredible tender, it is a must to try it. The fishes were good as well and the beef is not recommended. The desserts are fine, the cheese choice good and if you want to have just fruist you can choose from a big tray as well. The personal is flexible with your choices. The rooms in the old part are exactly what you can read also in other reviews they are old. The spa is very professional and being in the same hotel for stayi g and spa makes a lot of sense.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and choose the new part

The hotel is situated overlooking a beautiful stretch of beach just outside the Walled City. Rooms are well appointed with a nice feature of an outside shutter which allows for a darkened room to aid in sleeping. The spa itself is spread over a huge area, plenty to choose from but a little difficult to find your way around. Very few staff around. The massage was very good with lovely heated towels. The water jet area is really extensive with lots of correctly placed jets for back and neck massages. The down side is that it closes in the middle of the day. Ate dinner entre muros but the restaurant at the hotel looks lovely with fabulous views of the sea.
