Looking randomly for some place to lunch in St Malo, we stumbled upon this tea shop, which turned into a wonderful lunch experience. Beyond the enticing homemade cakes in the window is a clean, tidy, cozy shop with about 8 tables, framed embroidery on the walls, all done in very good taste.

The lunch itself was great: little individual cocottes of fish or meat tajines, choucroute, original, tasty, filling. Classical music, and then wonderfully original desserts. I recommend the chocolate spice cake: light, savorous. A great way to spend one or two hours.

We had our usual brief walk around the sea walls of the town and in need of a hot drink just before lunch. We had passed this Salon de The several times and my wife said this time we are going in. We ordered our hot chocolate and our cafe creme, then the choice of gateau chocolate and two scones with a pretty side dish of two jams and cream delicious. While sitting we watch the lunch time clients coming in ordering and receiving their main course dishes they look very tasty and well presented, next time lunch not a snack. Very pleasant front of house gentleman and a great person in the kitchen.

I have to say that we have been here 3 times, once we even drove from Brussels on a friday just so we could, once again, have the mix sea food soup here. The chef takes his job very seriously and the quality of his produce is unparalleled. The mix sea food main dish is simply the most amazing meal we have ever had. It is very hard to find fault with the food!

We were walking around St.Malo on a Sunday lunchtime trying to find something a bit off the tourist trail. The lunch menu here looked interesting so we tried this little restaurant.. This place has a dual personality as many of the reviews refer to it as a tea shop. But the meals are also to be admired. Beautifully cooked tagine (an unusual dish in France) and seafood casserole (full of seafood unlike some places where there is more sauce than fish!). Very reasonably priced and good service despite the restaurant being completely full. The tables (decorated by one of the owners) are worth a visit in their own right.

My wife and I were on our way home from holiday in Vannes and had booked into a hotel in St Malo. We took a walk around the town in the blistering sun and I personally wanted nothing more than a pizza or something simple. We had passed this little innocuous plate on the way and my wife really wanted to go..it only seats about 20 and so is very very biijou...

Suffice to say we ended up there and iit was fabulous, food cooked fresh to order, sea food was fabulous and they base everything on a cook book of spices which you can buy locally.

It was unusual, different and quite exotic

More than that, it was memorable
