This hotel is located within the ramparts of the old city. It is close to many excellent and reasonably priced restaurants. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed overnight in the Hotel du Louvre, arriving in the evening from Paris, before catching the morning ferry to Jersey. On arrival, the really helpful receptionist sorted out everything quickly and efficiently, providing codes for the wifi, a map of the walled city, and another map with restaurant locations as well as some very detailed and useful recommendations.

The hotel public areas were clean and well maintained. My room, on the 4th floor, was small but clean and nicely decorated. The room was quiet, the curtains were dark and the bed was comfortable - so all the basics were well catered for!

Check out the next morning was equally efficient and pleasant, then I was away before the sun was quite up for the short walk to the ferry terminal - so I can't comment on the breakfast as it was still too early for my stomach to be awake!

This was my first time to St Malo, but from my wanderings around the walled city in the evening showed me clearly that the location of this hotel is perfect.

I look forward to returning to St Malo, and will almost certainly try to book this hotel first.

We booked this hotel for two nights and loved it so much in Saint Malo we decided to stay an extra night, and were only charged the same as the first two nights which we got on sale online and ended up saving about 30€. All the staff spoke perfect English and were so helpful and friendly. Room was a good size and close to everything. The hotel offered parking for a few but also showed us where we could park for free about 50m away. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough we will stay here again.

From the first greeting this is an explemary establishment. Situated within the walls and yet not noisy, this hotel is first class.
The rooms are very clean: linen crisp, no sign of dust.
Quite simply a fantastic place to stay.

We had travelled on the overnight from Munich and the train was an hour late getting in to Paris as a consequence we missed our connection to St Malo. We were able to get the next train at no extra cost but unbeknown to us there had been an accident the night before on the line and the train had to go the long way. We eventually got to our hotel and what a pleasant surprise. It was in the old town which is absolutely delightful and the room was quite large and also the bathroom was large. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. There were plenty of restaurants close by and lovely beaches. It is a walled town and we walked around the wall and every corner we turned the views were spectacular. We also went on a ferry to Jersey in the Channel Islands. Would definitely return and stay at this hotel

Hotel du Louvre was a very comfortable and friendly place to stay in St Malo - very well situated to experience the city life. The hotel staff were very helpful with assistance for wifi connections. Rooms were a good size with comfortable beds.

We recently stayed two nights at the du Louvre in Saint Malo. Location is great inside the city walls but the hotel is shabby, or at least our room was. The walls have not been painted in a decade and the website makes the rooms appear huge when they are very small. I'm not complaining about a small room I am complaining because I felt deceived. There are cafes and restaurants right beside and across from the hotel so there is noise. Closing the windows will block most of it. Saint Malo is a lovely town, especially inside the walls of the historic section where the hotel is located. Lots of great dining options. For breakfast you can venture outside the hotel, turn right and at the top of the steps you will find a nice cafe. Mont Saint Michel is about a 40 minute drive.
