There's no doubt that St Malo is an expensive town, both for accommodation and eating out. There are so many hotels to choose from that it is difficult to decide, but I was a bit disappointed with our choice.

The hotel is perfectly adequate. The room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. However it was very small and didn't have much in the way of facilities (no tea/coffee making in room for example and the wi-fi signal wasn't great). We had a good nights sleep so nothing to complain about. However it felt very expensive for what we got. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was free on-street parking nearby which we were assured was safe.

It took us about 30 mins to walk to the centre - a nice scenic walk along the seafront but a bit longer than I expected. We didn't bother with breakfast but found a very nice bakery just a few minutes down the road (opposite the Carrefour mini-market) which was open Sunday morning.

We booked this hotel for one nights stay before catching the ferry home the next morning. The girl on reception was lovely and very helpful, she provided us with a map of St Malo and explained how to get to the sea front which is about a 5 min walk away.
The hotel is quite small and is part of a large chain. There is a lift which is helpful if you are on a top floor, which we were. There is a small restaurant which we didn't use as breakfasts were quite expensive.
The rooms are of a reasonable size and very clean with tvs - the main reason for the rating I have given it is the lack of air conditioning and no tea/coffee making facilities. The room became unbearably hot but the only option was to open the window which opened out on a busy road. After tossing and turning for a number of hours we were so tired we opted for an open window and noisy traffic! Luckily we had booked a cabin on the ferry and we both managed to get a couple of hours sleep in there. Very disappointed.

Hotel's location is quite okay - its about 15-20 min. away from old town (walking). Breakfasts were tasty and fresh. Stuff was nice, helpfull and smily what built great atmosphere. The only one disadvantage is noise from the street during day. I can recommend visit here :)

We are a family of four and stayed in a family room (double bed + two single beds). Room was basic but comfortable and clean, though I am not sure how it would be in summer as we did not see any fans/air conditioners. Bathrooms were a good size too. Breakfast seemed expensive for what it was (basic continental breakfast), so we did not partake (so many boulangeries and patisseries around that you can get all you need for far less). Would recommend if you are looking for an inexpensive but pleasant option in St. Malo.

We had two communicating room for the 4 of us (3 kids). The hotel is simple but very good - everything you need is there. the bathrooms are brand new and have all you expect. Well heated as well and everything is very functional. The internet service is free and works well two - no hassle. We had a very good time and the staff is truly helpful and caring as well - making you feel welcome, attentive to anything you might need, has a lot of good advice for where to go and what to see - and finally ready to go out of their way to help (one of my kid knocked their head and they immediately helped with ice for the head bump - worked like a charm). It was a wonderful experience.
