“Nice,clean,central”
Reviewed 21 November 2012 via mobile

This is a nice place to stay if you want to be inside the walls of the town as it is quite central. Some noise pollution between the corridors and rooms but nothing crazy. Small rooms but this is to be expected, the shower was at quite a height from the bathroom floor which was a bit dangerous but a bit of care gets you in and out ok!

Overall I would return, pleasant owners help to make it a welcoming hotel

By brother and I stayed for 2 nights. Everything was as promised by email bookings. We had 2 rooms opposite each other on 1st floor - his with the enormous terrace. I booked it that way so he could have a cigarette outside. My room was pretty small and had the tiniest shower unit but absolutely fine. His room was bigger, had a bath and 2 sets of double doors opening to the terrace which we had exclusive access to. The terrace is about the size of 3 rooms and has a couple of tables and chairs and looks over the small square.

Altough the building is traditional and old, everything inside this hotel is slick and clean and modern. The owners are very friendly and professional. It's in a great location giving you easy 1 minute access to everything Saint Malo has to offer. We were really happy to have stayed there. Stayed at some other 4 star hotels on our trip who could use some tips from this couple on how to run a hotel! Charming and comfortable!

Room Tip: The terrace room is absolutely charming! With only 3 rooms per floor, if you were with a family or g...

I booked a stay at Le Croiseur for my 85-year-old mother who is no longer allowed to fly but is desperate to travel abroad if she can. She stayed for a week at this hotel and said the following.
Very central, only 100 yards to walk and you are in the centre. The hotel was very nicely decorated in greys and browns and creams and everything was very clean. She found the room a little small but knew this before going so had no complaint.
The most imporant comment I have to make is about the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners. My mother's return ferry was cancelled due to industrial action and then the replacement sailing was cancelled due to bad weather. This was very distressing for her but throughout the process of re-arranging travel options, extending her stay and getting instructions to her the hotel never failed to be supportive and friendly and to help her book, cancel and re-book taxis and give her messages and directions. I have to thank them heartily for making a difficult experience for her as easy as possible. She was also very very grateful that the owner allowed her to practice her 'not very good' French while also offering to speak English if she preferred. A nice touch that made her happy.

In a picturesque part of St. Malo, 1 mile from the Brittany Ferries terminal.
We used this hotel as a one night stopover before catching the ferry to Portsmouth on Sunday morning, and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Although it did not provide evening meals, there are plenty of good restaurants and bars in the area. Breakfast was OK - fresh bread, croissants, fruit, etc. - charged at EUR 8 per person. The room was not very large, but adequate for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke enough English so as not to test our very limited French!.
Parking is limited, and we had to park on the street a quarter of a mile away, but it was a busy Saturday night at the restaurants. Parking is free between 19:00 and 09:00, and about EUR 1.50 per hour during the day.

Charming little hotel superbly well-located in st malo. It is true that the rooms are small and that you can hear your next door neighbours when they are in the hallway. But since there are only 3 rooms per floor this is really not a disturbance. The owners were extremely friendly, the room was spotless and continental breakfast was great. The only flaws are the lift that is extremely small and that must be reached by a flight of stairs and the big step to enter the shower. I would definitely come back to this hotel but would not recommend it to elderly people.

The hotel staff on our arrival (after 12 hours of travel from Poole via Jersey and Guernsey) were very friendly and accommodating, they spoke good English and were relaxed and helpful. We made use of the private car park which is a winding drive through the town and then underground (a bit of a faff) but once found it was very convenient. The room was small but very clean and modern with a very comfortable mattress. We didn't take breakfast as we always prefer to find a local boulangerie. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for its friendly staff, reasonable price and central location.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the building which was definitely quieter than the front would be but w...

We arrived early and left our bags while we went wandering the old town.
Our room was on the first floor clean and comfortable with french doors leading to a deck with chairs and table. The staff were extremely helpful with any of our requests and the breakfast was good value for a continental style.Overall a great little place to stay.

Room Tip: First floor with balcony
