“An excellent hotel with an excellent restaurant.”

We stayed at this hotel as an extension of a river cruise from Paris to Normany with Grand Circle. It was a restful hotel near the beach and not far from the city center. The room was large and comfortble. The hotel staff was very friendly and eager to be of service. The hotel had an excellent restaurant.

We stayed here for the last night of a short break in France. The reception staff were very friendly and informative. The bedroom was large with a small balcony. For dinner we had the set menu which was ok. Breakfast was buffet style with a reasonable choice. A bonus point was the coffee was Nepresso!
Overall we found the hotel was a little 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. They were expecting a large party in the day we left and we feel that this is their market catchment area. We would stay there again if no other choices were available!

We stayed in this hotel as a family ( 7 and 3 year old children ) in June 2012. The is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the old town and is conveniently located one block back from the seafront. We enjoyed walking along the promenade ( it's possible to walk right to the old town this way) and the kids enjoyed the beach which was sandy and gently sloping. The hotel has two family rooms (room 100 was ours and it was very spacious - a separate bedroom with two singles for the kids). Reception staff were excellent - friendly and informative. On one occasion we were recommended to visit a local village not originally on our to-do list and it was stunning (Saint-Suliac).

The hotel has a great indoor swimming pool which the kids enjoyed - it was always quiet (well, until they arrived of course) and also a pool table in the lobby (1 euro per game ). Parking was plentiful ever in the hotels small open-air carppark or on the street immediately outside the hotel, which we found to be safe and convenient.

We enjoyed buffet breakfast in the hotel but ate lunch and dinner out. The are 5-6 decent affordable restaurants within 10 minutes walk towards the old town (Tavern de Commerce and a good Pizzeria next door to this ) and in the old town itself plenty of eating places.

Suggested local places to visit - Pointe du Grouin (great sea views), Saint-Suliac, Jardins de Montmarin (tricky to find, but well worth it), Dinan ( fabulous ).

If we were to come back to Saint-Malo we would definitely stay at this hotel - those closer to the old town seemed busier, noisier, whereas this hotel is in a much quiter location. In our opinion the old town of Saint-Malo can be seen in a half-day.

We spent 3 nights here at the end of a river cruise. The hotel was very comfortable. The location is one block from the ocean, which is delightful for walking on the beach or convenient boardwalk. The restaurant is excellent., with a lovely prix fixe dinner.

We just returned from a 15 day trip to Fance cruising the Seine River: Paris to Honfleur with Grand Circle Travel. We stayed at this hotel for three days with our extension to Brittany. My husband, his brother and wife were given two adjoining suites called the Family Suite. They had a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower, a large sleeping area and a small sitting area that adjoned to ours. We had the smaller room with a sitting area and a smaller bathroom with a tub and hand held shower, which my husband found difficult to use...he is 6' 6". We had a private entrance that opened to the courtyard.
The nearby construction seems to be at a standstill...most of the locals are on vacation.

Hotel is near a supermarket, pharmacy, baker and wonderful charcucharie (?)...pork store that sells prepared foods, wine and cheeses that can be purchased for a picnic or stay in the room meal. There are several small local bistros that are resonably priced serving good food from a limited menu. You cxan venture down the main drag a bit further for a more varied selection of restaurants and bistros or cab it into the old city for some interesting eating.
There was a pool that other guests enjoyed. Had dinner at the hotel one night, it was okay.

Dont go! There is building work going on on two properties that directly overlook the hotel and its garden. They start at 8am and continue all day. This will be going on until at least the end of this year. We complained but they just shrugged their shoulders. We paid E360 for two nights for room only and upon complaining there was no offer of a discount for the disturbance. We suggested that they put a note on their website about the noise, but I doubt very much if this will happen as nobody will book it if they did. The room we had was large with a small balcony (directly facing the builders) but it is all looking a bit faded and old. It needs updating. There was something sticky on the carpet and the tied floor in the toilet had become so impregnated with urine over the years that it had an unpleasant aroma. Comfortable bed. This is all rather ironic as the hotel is part of the 'Relais du SILENCE' group!!

Delayed by bad weather and traffic in paris, we arrived very late to Saint-Malo. Staff was super helpful even at a late hour. Hotel is a little tricky to find in the dark, but well worth it. Staff is cheerful and knowledgeable and hospitable. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed, especially good for a family.
