“Great hotel, great location!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Quic En Groigne was a wonderful hotel! Our family of 10 made reservations for 4 rooms for two nights in July and we were not disappointed! The hotel owners were welcoming and very accommodating. The rooms were well set up, clean and nicely decorated. The on-site parking worked well for one of our rental cars and they had a solution for parking for our rented mini-van just outside the city walls. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of European breakfast: bread, pastries, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit and a variety of fresh fruits. The hotel was well located to the beach, you could walk anywhere in St. Malo within a few minutes. We slept with our windows open each night and the street was quiet enough to no disturb our sleep.

I booked with the hotel on line from Canada a month before arriving, had several helpful emails in return to ensure we had the right rooms for our family. We arrived on the ferry from England in the evening--a short walk to the hotel into the walled town--and were met by Marie-Dominique at the door, looking out for us, greeting us by name. We felt like we were arriving at family, and were treated the same throughout our stay.

The rooms are beautiful, breakfast lovely. The street is quite quiet, but we were steps to the beach, and everything St. Malo has to offer! Highly recommended!!

We had the opportunity to stay for three days and two nights at the Hotel Quick En Groigne. Our first encounter was with a wonderful staff member at 9am on our first day. We were way early to the property but we thought we would stop in, park our car and drop off our bags. The staff member helped us park the car (not for the faint of heart) and then checked us in at 9:30am in the morning. The service only got better from there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff was great. While the staff was the best part, the location was phenomenal as well. For those who are on the border about going to St. Malo. Make sure you treat yourself. The Hotel was literally 300ft from a walled opening to incredible beaches. You could be in the ocean within five minutes of leaving the hotel. Great people, location, history, sailing. Go to St. Malo and consider staying at the Hotel Quic En Groigne.

Room Tip: I would recommend staying on the upper floors.

Quic En Groigne is a well run hotel in the pretty walled centre of St Malo. The hosts were happy to wait for our late arrival and were very helpful when we asked about restaurants. The room was perfect for recharging our batteries after a long ferry trip; the kingsize bed very comfy and the ensuite was well decorated, complete with a large bath. The complimentary toiletries came in handy and the car park was convenient for our one night stop. I would recommend this good value hotel for a short break in St Malo, particularly as it is slightly away from the very touristy area, close to a great bakery and creperie.

I was a single person off to Le Mans on my motorbike to meet up with friends. Found Hotel Quic en Groigne on Trip Advisor and what a find. Arrived at 9pmish off the ferry and they were outside to meet me. They have a basement car park. Very secure. Lovely clean spacious room. Excellent recommendation from the owners where to go to eat and then drink. Good strong WI-FI in room. You won't be disappointed.. Lovely owners lovely hotel and St Malo has a very unique friendly character.

We discovered this hotel on Trip Advisor and it lived up to the accolades of other guests. The location was excellent and we were able to walk all over old St. Malo and had nearby access to the rampart walk and beach. After three days it felt like home with our fave little restaurants and shops. The hotel proprietors were so helpful with every request and introduced new ideas for our entertainment. The rooms were clean and recently renovated but small, the only real drawback to the hotel. Our king size bed, however, was wonderful and we had a nice bath tub for soaking off our exercise aches. Parking in their garage was helpful as all street parking is metered, but it was quite an adventure to access the small space. Only park there with a smaller vehicle.

Room Tip: Be aware there is no elevator if that is an issue for you. We were in a third floor corner with a l...
