I & my wife were satisfied with this hotel.
Location is the first one. About 10-mins walking from Gare de Auxerre. We arrived here late afternoon, a short time before dark. Auxerre's old town is like a little bit maze with narrow ways. This is just beside the river to be easily found. Check out restaurant Bar a vins on the riverside!

Other one is the view. I like the view over the window. You'll know what i mean when you get it.

and the staffs are very kind. Around

Room Tip: Ask a room with river view.

Stayed here for one night July 2014 on our way home from the Alps. Very pleased with hotel and Auxerre is an old town with an Abbey and Cathedral and lots of very old houses. Really enjoyed our walk round the old town and had a lovely meal out on the Friday night. Hotel is old fashioned but with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was very good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

Nice quiet hotel right by the river. Rooms come with refrigerators. Shower pressure was a little low for my standards. The bath tub was fiber glass but clean. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel decor is cute. Free parking out on the street if available.

Spent two very comfortable nights here in Room 101(!) with high ceilings, windows overlooking the river and a large bathroom. Air con very welcome in the warm nights.
The Hotel is located in the centre of buzzing town on the quayside of the River Yonne. Service was good and smiling. Breakfasts gave plenty of choice and were plentiful.
The town is a much better base for exploring the Chablis region than Chablis itself (a 20 minute drive away) and one is spoilt for choice in the number of good restaurants nearby.
Limited parking us available at the rear of the premises(for a fee) or one can take ones chances of finding a spot on the quay at the front.
Access from the A6 both N&S is a relatively easy 10 min drive.
Would be very happy to stay here again.

We stayed two nights, pleasant and helpful staff with secure parking at rear of hotel. Good breakfast and the rooms were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The hotel does not have a restaurant for evening meal but plenty close by

We stayed at Hotel Maxime on our way back from South of France. It is a great half way point to stop and sample a gorgeous French town.

The hotel is really old fashioned and quaint. It has the most fantastic location - right on the Yonne river and a short stroll to the middle of the town. We had an attic room - which was so full of character. Rooms and bathrooms are a good size, immaculately clean and have everything you could want. I dont think I have ever seen a bigger bed. Staff was very nice - accompanied us to our room to show us the facilities even. There is a private garage at the back of the hotel which cost €9 per night - great peace of mind. There was a party going on in the river boat restaurant opposite - but it didnt bother us.

We didnt eat here. Room rate including parking was less than €100. Terrific value. Would return without a doubt.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have a lovely view of the river.
