We spent two nights in September sharing the Ernest suite with our friends and greatly enjoyed ourselves. Our rooms were large as were the bathrooms which were spotless. This is a very unusual property chock full of fantastic antiques which have evidently been with the property forever. We dined at La Cimentelle both nights-the food prepared by Nathalie and Stephane was outstanding. We had a great time drinking wine, dining, and enjoying the company of other guests and our hosts. There is no lift. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the Hippolyte room for 3 nights while we explored the delights of Burgundy. We had dinner with 7 other guests the first evening of our stay and as well as sharing great food and wine, we had the opportunity to make new acquaintances and took with us great insight into what to do and see in the area from the other guests and our hosts.

Nathalie and Stephane made our stay a pleasure - they provided a perfect mix of privacy and being available when needed, always willing to spend time to talk and offering information & suggestions to make the most of our time in France.

We had lovely views from our room, the free standing bath in the centre of the room was an experience, their website offered great information on vineyards to visit and places to eat, the pool over the disused cement works was like a scene from a movie and overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

Thank you Stephane and Nathalie

My husband and I arrived at beautiful La Cimentelle on a hot afternoon at the end of July and relaxed in the rooftop swimming pool above the rustic remains of an old cement factory. Just before dinner, a rare wind storm struck the property. Stephane, Nathalie and their daughter Julia were very solicitous about everyone's safety. Power lines were down, so all 17 guests were romanced by candelabras, good wine and an incredible meal made with an altered menu since the original plan needed electricity. The lively conversation among guests who graciously spoke English recounted tales of past adventures. Over the next 3 days we watched farm neighbors band together and help restore the property to a place of respite and beauty. We came as guests but left as friends.

romance, genuine sincere extend friendship accommodating great food, good burgundy wine

A family friendly place to romance and relax

We stayed here for 3 nights with our son, daughter, son in law and their 10 month old. Lovely rooms complete with our own lounge. We enjoyed the pool and gardens as well. Stephane and Natalie are friendly informative hosts and the shared evening meals with other guests is a highlight both for the chance to meet others and the food. Singing happy birthday to help celebrate an 80 th birthday was a privilege .
Breakfast in the garden was delightful as well.

With a group of friends we spent a very relaxing few days in this historic spot - a grand chateau style house alongside the remains of an old cement works, with outbuildings now converted to further accommodation and small convention facilities. Superb hosts Nathalie and Stephane, both of whom are gourmet chefs, and provide wonderful French dishes in the house restaurant. Great place, in a small village a few minutes drive from Avallon.

Room Tip: Self contained accommodation in their Gites is great for families or group of friends.

We stayed here with our two kids en route home from the Alpes to London and wished we could have stayed for longer. Stephane and Natalie are both chefs so the food was sublime and they even did smaller portions of the dishes for our daughters (aged 8 and 12). The family suites on the top floor are very spacious - two bedrooms, two bathrooms - and the whole package is excellent value for money (accommodation and food). The house is beautiful and beautifully furnished in a modern ecclectic style, and you enjoy a swim in the rooftop pool followed by an apertif in the gardens all before dinner. A delight and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Family rooms on the top floor were brilliant as they're effectively suites with two bedrooms and...

Last Minute was the name on our folio. And it is true. We called at 6 and checked in at 7 thanks to a last minute cancellation. Dinner at 8 after a swim. Fantastic dinner of salmon and fresh vegetables. Breakfast of crepes, croissant and assorted cheeses. Yum yum. All home cooked, of course. Great hosts Natalie and Stephan made a "last minute" stop one of the most pleasurable memories of our trip. Both are well traveled and fun to talk to about Burgundy and other experiences. The countryside - it speaks for itself. Wake up to mooing cows.
