Unless you want a luxurious private ( 4 Room) B&B which is more like a private home. A lovely courtyard with fountain. Wonderfully furnished rooms. ( mine was number 4).
A wonderful breakfast reception area.
Steps away from the center of Beaune.
But go somewhere else because it's hard enough to book a room here and I want to come back!

We used to go to hotels in town or just outside, favoring those with nice restaurants. Deceived by the level of accomodation, we decided to scout for an alternative.
Why did we not do this before ? Superb setting, very nice decoration, calm location nevertheless close to centre ... and ... exceptional hosts.
And if you want to go home with wine, you shall be more than happy !
A conseiller à tous vos amis proches mais pas trop car il n'y aura plus de place pour nous ...

If you want serious privacy, a comfortable and spacious room, and a lovely locally-sourced breakfast, Chez les Fatien is a delight from start to finish. If you need a lot of Downton Abbey amenities and attention, perhaps look elsewhere. For within the bleak stone walls, it has only four rooms, each overlooking a most charming private courtyard. We arrived on a rainy/snowy evening and warmed by an attentive welcome, quickly decided we were geniuses to have scored a reservation. The rooms are individually themed to the owners travel memories. We stayed in the “Return from India” room and were delighted with the details of its comfy décor, chalerous bathroom and a bed that lived up to the promise of fit for a Maharajah and Maharani. In an unobtrusive narrow side street, the hotel is, nevertheless, within easy walking distance of Beaune’s best restaurants, fabulous town market and the world famous late medieval almshouse, l’Hotel-Dieu. One tip: be sure to reserve a space in their nearby private parking garage. You don't really need a car to enjoy the city.

This is a remarkable place. The location is in the center of Beaune within easy walking distance of key attractions. The gounds are old world with stone walls. Our room was huge with stone walls and a completely comfortable bed, but modern lights and wi-fi. One foot on the stairs at night would kick-in the lights.

The owner's son is a winemaker who indulged us with a tour of his operations below the house that actually extended beyond the house property lines to include the neighbor's basement. Most of Beaune is cellared. We barrell tasted new and old, white and red, estate and purchased. Charlie was passionate about his wine and outspoken about misconceptions in the wine industry.

Breakfast was in a beautiful common area with a great spread of food and coffee. We ate w/couples from Switzerland and Australia and everyone greatly enjoyed the place as well as the hospitality.

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs. Our room had shutters and was extremely quiet. Don't think you could go wrong w/any of the rooms.

We travelled through France for a month and had a large suitcase each plus hand luggage. When we arrived we were shown to our room which was up a rather steep flight of stairs. We were left to haul our luggage up the stairs & when shown our apartment we had another steep flight of stairs to our bedroom which did not have an ensuite or toilet so we had to go downstairs to use the bathroom. The first morning we were there we had a very nice breakfast, however on the second morning there was hardly any food left on the buffet and we had to ask for muesli and if we could have some fruit - there was a bowl with a few unedible apples with withered skins. We felt that this property wasn't good value for money.
