“great cave”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

read the book "war and wine" before going. One of the cave walls dates to the Roman era. The tour with Pierre was great. the wine was good too. the caves are old and have great history. they have possibly the oldest working wine press in the world. I say it is a must see tour when in Beaune.

“Amazing history and fantastic wines”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

My husband booked us a tour at Joseph Drouhin, and for 35 euros I was skeptical it would be worth the money. It definitely was. Well maybe not for $40/person but I would still highly recommend it. Drouhin is the oldest cellar in Beaune and they have an old wine press and amazing caves that go under the church and part of the town. There is so much history in the place it was really interesting. Our tour guide was wonderful and gave us great insight into the history of wine-making the region. We were the only two on the tour so it was a very personal and unique experience. The wines are great too, they have many older vintages that are pretty reasonably priced because they have so much cellar space to hold them back. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and tasting.

“Wonderful tour”
Reviewed 11 April 2013 via mobile

We made reservations prior to our arrival in Beaune. Our tour guide Jackie was wonderful and so knowledgeable. We were the only two on the tour so we were able to ask lots of questions. Amazing that the cellars are so old and in such amazing condition. This tour cost was a little more than others but well worth the cost.

“Historic Tour and Classic Wines”
Reviewed 27 March 2013

My wife and I took a wine tour and participated in a tasting here. I booked it well in advance as I considered it a must-see on our trip to Beaune. It did not disappoint. The tour was more interesting than most because of the history of the old caves. The wines that were poured at the tastingwere excellent, and they even brough us a Grand Cru as a bonus wine. While the cost is highher than other tours, we felt that it was worth it.

“Must do for wine lovers”
Reviewed 10 February 2013

This place is great! English tours including tasting for €35 (but 6 pours)! Wonderful caves and history and tour guide and delicious wine. We went in low season so it was just the two of us and the very knowledgable guide who added a few extra pours of nice bottles she had open. The oaked Chardonnay is a must!
