“Beautiful hotel. Great location. Great service.”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

We recently stayed at Le Cep for 4 nights and it was a delight. The room was beautifully appointed, a decent size with a nice spacious bathroom. The main part of the hotel is old, historical and beautifully decorated. There is parking on the property which you pay for, a fitness area on the top of an old tower and a lovely garden to sit and eat in. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly but Anna stood out for us as exceptional. There is free wifi but it was not always working properly. We did not eat breakfast there because I did not see the need to pay 20 euro for a breakfast. I preferred getting a coffee and croissant in the town. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Others have described the rooms, so I won't add much other than to note that the rooms for single travellers are much smaller than others. The front of house staff here are a real asset. They all speak a good level of English and are very professional and helpful. A useful tip is that you don't have to have a full breakfast. If you just want something light to start the day ask for a "sample" - a coffee, juice and a croissant will set you back 6 euros. We enjoyed our weekend in Beaune and staying at the Cep certainly contributed to that.

The hotel Le Cep was wonderful. Great rooms and a very central location near restaurants, wine merchants the Hotel Dieu and shopping. Beautiful furnishings and an excellent breakfast. They put out complimentary wine at breakfast but you have to be brave enough to open it.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a larger bed. We got a king but our trip-mates got a full.

The hotel is in the centre of Beaune and great when exploring the city. Our family room was large but already felt a bit old. The staff was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet but the restaurant was fully booked for dinner which was not great to say the least. Overall the hotel felt luxurious and definitely a very good choice (although quite expensive too as we made a last minute booking). The hotel has no children activities and is not really prepared for children.

my husband and I justt spent 4 nights here. It was a wonderful base for exploring the local Burgundian countryside, vineyards and wineries. Beaune is a delightful small town.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly and accomodating. They happily made restaurant recommendations and reservations for us. They always steered us in the right direction.

Room Tip: the rooms overlooking the courtyard are probably the quietest.

We were upgraded from the standard double room we booked and ended in a large room on the first floor with a view over the garden courtyard. A porter carried up our cases, which was great as we'd have had problems negotiating the several up and down steps between the different old buildings which have been joined together to make up this hotel.
When we arrived valet parking was offered, but they were happy to let us park the car ourselves in the coutyard behind the hotel - reached via several twisting side streets. (Make sure you have a map!)
The room had two large wardrobes (each containing eight hangers), plenty of drawer and desktop space and a separate toilet and bathroom. The toilet was small and the bathroom large, with a double sink and shower cubicle as well as the bath. The hairdryer was a basic one and only blew luke warm at best. (The only let down we found.)
Breakfast was in the cellar (very comfortable with a good choice from the buffet, plus hot drinks and a basket of pastries delivered to your table) or in a sheltered central courtyard when the weather permitted (less choice available - which could make you question the high charge.)
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel, which is well located in the old town, near to the central city sights and restaurants.
