“Four Stars...you've got to be joking.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2013

It is close to all the main sights in Beaune. It is quite comfortable and clean. Free WiFi. We paid extra to get a Junior Suite. We thought this would be good in a 4 star hotel. Here are a few surprises. No bar fridge in the room. A separate toilet but no basin in the toilet room to wash your hands. No soap or shampoo just big refillable bottles. Breakfast was terrible. There was a bus tour at the hotel [ a good reason to avoid this type of hotel] and only one person to manage the breakfast room. No plates for cereal [we were told they were all being used] bread for cutting had no serviette to hold it with [very unhygienic],t hey had run out of scrambled eggs and we gave up waiting after 20 minutes.
Over all this hotel is tired. Needs some energy and management leadership..

Dear Madam & Sir,

We thank you for your comment on tripadvisor.

Concerning the mini bar, we choose to keep the human link with a barman available when you want, you just have to call the front desk and order some drinks.

We are sincerely sorry about your disapointment with the breakfast and we take good note of your point.

We hope to see you back in Beaune to repair the troubles you had with us.

Best Regards,

The Manager

We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip through France and can only confirm what other reviewers have said. There is a very warm welcome from all the staff at this elegant hotel. We also got an unexpected upgrade to a suite and the rooms were fab with a top class bathroom. There was a separate bath and shower together with a powerful hairdryer and a lit make up mirror. Big bath towels, robes and slippers - I don't think I have had such a nice bathroom on our many travels in France. Everything was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed a couple of meals in the restaurant and breakfast on one morning - the service as excellent. The food was good (think the chef needs to add a bit more seasoning to some dishes) but overall I couldn't fault this place. The rear garden is a peaceful place to sit and the private garage very useful. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Hotel de la poste twice to break the journey to the South of France in August.

What can i say really, hotel is fantastic, has a great old world French atmosphere, Staff are superb, from the moment we walked in the door, reception staff could not do enough for you.

On our first visit, we were upgraded to a junior suite in the old part of the hotel overlooking the old town, room was huge, and had a great feel to it, old furniture, great bed, nice bathroom, separate loo.

We ate in the restaurant, on our first night, food was excellent, good wine list, and not too pricy, choice of menu's at varying prices, to suit all pockets, mixing and matching for Mrs C was also no problem.

On our return journey we stayed in a room in the new part of the hotel, room was a totally different feel, more modern, fantastic shower, fab bed, lovely decor.

We arrived late to the hotel, due to the traffic coming back from the South, (never again in August!!!!) Mrs C. was starving when we arrived after restaurant had closed, but it was no trouble for the reception staff to rustle up supper for her, eaten in the wonderful atmospheric bar.

There are parking spaces right outside the front of the hotel, which were free, with safe overnight parking, otherwise the hotel has it's own garage.

Beaune itself is A wonderful small French town, very oldie world, lots to see, go have a look at the Hospices, also lots of wine cellars to visit, and good restaurants to eat in

Did i mention i like this hotel

Wonderful hotel and property! We stayed one night after a full day of wine touring in Burgundy and will definitely return to stay longer. Great old world charm, polish while warm and welcoming. We were upgraded to a suite without asking upon arrival. Room decor a great mix of modernity with period pieces and original architecture. French country elegance without attitude.
Restaurant served dinner on the rear courtyard which was wonderful for a romantic summer evening. Great Burgundian menu and wine list - not inexpensive but well worth it. Superb service as well.

A delightful hotel in every way. Our room was charming, elegant, extremely comfortable and very glamorous. Our bathroom was large, modern and equally glamorous. The staff are friendly and attentive, with great customer service. This is a true gem among hotels.

Planned to stay one night on our way to Provence. Ideally would have arrived in time for dinner, enjoyed the surroundings, enjoyed the room etc. Best laid plans plus late ferry, wrong turnings equal arrival at 10.30pm.
Staff were on the ball, rustled up some very good cold platters and a bottle of wine despite the restaurant closing an hour earlier.
Beautiful room, No 110, overlooked courtyard, peaceful and comfortable.

Thank you to all those who made our short stay special. Especially the young man, (sorry I cannot remember your name), who literally got on his bike to ensure our safe arrival at the hotel.

Room Tip: Only stayed in 110 and it suited us very well

Lovely hotel in Beaune, just a short stroll from the centre of town. We stayed here for two nights on our journey south through France at the beginning of July. On arrival we were welcomed by very friendly and helpful reception staff. Our second floor room overlooked the garden to the back of the property and was extremely comfortable, particularly pleased with the air conditioning on a very hot day. Slept very well both nights. Bathroom also very nice.

We had a meal in the hotel restaurant on the first night and the food was very good, as was the service. My only slight criticism would be directed towards the breakfast, which was adequate but nothing special.

Useful secure parking garage (at an extra charge) at the back of the hotel.

I would definitely stay here again. Great location and lots to do and see in this area. Beaune is a beautiful town.
