Contacted the owner, Guillaume the day before and we were able to secure a wine class for three people the next morning at 0930. Although the class is scheduled for 2 hours we were not rushed and took the next 3 hours discussing, tasting and learned about Burgundy. Amazing class and wonderful wines! Next time we will certainly do the pairing class. No matter your level or your background he will connect and give you a great experience.

The wine class was 50 euro's per person but worth every bit of it.

We happened upon this wonderful little cave bar and have a delightful experience. The owner, Guillaume Grandin, was so hospitable and informative. He searched thoroughly for the types of wines we preferred and was delightful. The bar is a jazz bar some of the evenings, but also a wine store and bar all day long. Wonderful experience, and would recommend it to anyone.

We stopped in on a rainy afternoon and he made our day. We spent 2 1/2 hours talking, learning and tasting wine. Very down to earth. His knowledge of the area and wines was exceptional. A real Trip Advisor find.

My friends and I visited Beaune on 2nd May travelling down from Champagne regions. Unlike Cellars in Champagne, the wineries are not as open in Burgundy and most of the people do not speak English, so we finished the day early and went down to Les Caves de l'Abbaye for more wines for all the good reviews I saw here. It does live up to all the credits and praises. The environment is very relaxing and cozy and the jazz music is excellent. According to the owner, Guillaume, they will have live jazz performance once a month, so you can inquire in advance. Guillaume is very knowledgeable about wines and speaks very good English. We learnt a lot by only talking to him. He also provides wine tasting, wine course and private dinner right at the cave. So if you really cannot find any Cellars which speak English and is willing to open door for visits, or you do not like joining group wine tour, I suggest you hook up with Guillaume and visit his cool place. We had a wonderful time chilling out there. A small episode - someone in our group left a backpack in the bar and didn't realise until after dinner. Guillaume sent me an email marked "URGENT" informing me about the backpack and told me he would stay till 11 pm and the next morning for us to go back to collect it. We were lucky!!

After a day of tasting and wine shopping it was so refreshing to enjoy wine without the subtle feeling of obligation. Ir was a sharing and conversational experience that was unique. We plan to go back tomorrow after dinner. Very nice place and host.
