Saint-romain is a tiny village in Burgundy so the place is not hard to find. I traded a few emails with the owner, and was reminded each time that check in was only during 5-7pm. However, she neglected to tell me that she only accepts cash or cheque, which made it a bit inconvenient.
The place is beautiful, with the room very well-decorated. We were in the le verger room, very cute heart motif. Very nice!
There is a verandah where you can sit but the mood was ruined a bit by the noisy work going at the winery downstairs. But it is a working winery after all, so it's fair enough. However, they didn't extend the same consideration that it's also a working B&B when they fired up the machinery at 6am. Which is even more hilarious when you notice the long list of house rules includes no showers after 10pm to "maintain the tranquility of the place".
There is only one restaurant in the village, and it's closed Tue and Wed. To go anywhere else by cab, you have to call one out of Beaune. And they start charging from Beaune so it's about 16€ before you go anywhere. So my advice is to hire a car! We also struggled to get a cab to catch our train in the morning, and the owner very kindly offered to give us a lift.
The breakfast is nice - coffee, juice and pastries.
Overall, great little place, just get a car and cash for your stay!
