“As good as a retreat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Cécile and Christophe have created an idyllic haven hiding away not 10 minutes walk from the centre of Beaune. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect such an experience. This immaculate home with its walled garden was wonderful. Tea in the garden under the peach, apple and cherry trees. Our room was more a suite. Vast space with old furniture, dual aspect looking out over the garden. Stunning marble bathroom with L'Occitane products. And then there was breakfast! What a feast! Truly faultless. I left this home having been there less than 24 hours but felt more relaxed than I have in months. I would stay again and for more than one night, in a heartbeat. It was not inexpensive but was more than value for money.

Cecile and Christophe were outstanding hosts. This place must be the best B&B in Beaune. Our room (there are only two) was immaculately clean and very roomy with a great bed and a lovely sitting area with view over the surrounding garden and hills in the distance. The location is ideal with a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Cecile who speaks fluent English prepared typically French breakfast with homemade jams and conserves from her huge garden. They went out of their way to ensure that we got tickets for our train as we were there during an unfortunate train strike. Cecile gave us restaurant recommendations which proved to be winners.
Most highly recommended and can not imagine why you would want to stay elsewhere.

My wife and I had the privilege of staying in this wonderful B & B in a charming town on the nights of 10th - 13th June 2014. In years of travel, to cities and town in 90+ countries, we cannot recall a place that was as nice. We were warmly welcomed to a spotless house, built in the 1700's, a charming room that overlooked an equally charming garden. Breakfast was wonderful and it is no more than 15 minutes on foot to anywhere in the town. I could wax on and still not do it justice. Wineries, including Bouchard and countless buildings to explore. Superb in every aspect for us. Cecile and Christophe are wonderful non intrusive hosts.

Room Tip: Just experience this place

As experienced Bed and Breakfast visitors in France, I have to say that this was our first visit to the lovely town of Beaune. It will certainly not be our last. We could not have selected a more authentic and welcoming place to stay! From the moment you are met by Cecile on arrival to the time you unfortunately have to depart, Cecile makes you genuinely feel that you are welcome. There are beautiful gardens behind her home and Cecile will tell you that it is your garden during your stay! How wonderful to sit there in the evening around a picnic table having an impromptu picnic among the flowering trees and roses. The rooms are just wonderful, spacious and spotless. Cecile recommended some " must sees" while there and mapped out a wonderful drive through the most fabulous vineyards of Burgundy. Her recommendations for dining were absolutely correct. Her husband is part of a very famous wine family in Beaune and Cecile was able to book us a tour on no notice. How wonderful. There is private parking and the walk into any part of Beaune is less than 10 minutes. As I said we eagerly look forward to a return visit to Beaune and of course, another stay at Les Planchottes.

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect!

Les Planchottes is a charming house, just steps from the old town, and yet a world away. It is an amazing value in this often overpriced area of Burgundy. The hosts are warm, gentle, and welcoming, and they make you feel at home the moment you step inside. By the time we left, we really felt as if we had made new friends in France.

The two suites are perfect, with lovely touches that reflect the peaceful surroundings of their gorgeous gardens. Roses climbing the trellises on the walls, vineyards in the distance, a tree full of sun-ripened cherries to which we were encouraged to help ourselves, a lovely patio for an evening with wine and cheese, and homemade caramels at the bedside each night. And the breakfasts! Cécile's homemade preserves are out of this world. I watched her make a batch of rhubarb jam in her copper pot, and she kindly shared her recipe with me.

I cannot imagine staying anywhere else while visiting Beaune.

Room Tip: Both rooms are perfect, with views of and access to the garden, and lovely furnishings.

We have just returned from our annual trip to France which as usual included a visit to Les Planchottes.

Cecile always makes us so welcome in her beautiful home. Everything is pristine, the hospitality excellent, and so conveniently located (including garaged car parking).
We highly recommend this lovely B & B.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely

A beautiful house in a wonderful location, Les Planchottes is the ideal place to stay. Cecile, our hostess, was most welcoming, offering us tea in her lovely garden and organising our parking. Her restaurant recommendation was first class. Our room was large and comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast with fruit from her garden and homemade preserves was delicious. This is a place not to be missed.
