We loved Chez Leon. We wanted traditional Burgundian cuisine in Dijon and opted for Chez Leon over other options.
The beef beef bourguignon was tender, flavourful, and had the right amount of Pinot Noir -- enough that the sauce had a rich taste without overpowering the dish. The green salad with a red beet Vinaigrette dressing had the right amount of oil and just a hint of vinegar. The wine the proprietor recommended perfectly suited our dish.
We actually found the manager/proprietor the previous referred to was in fact very friendly. While the menu wasn't in English, his effort to help us make sense of the menu in his English was exactly what we needed. He conversed with us on a couple of occasions and even served us a complimentary French-style grappa at the the conclusion of our meal.
The price was also not unreasonable. About 65 Euro for two entrees, two appetizers, two glasses of wine, and two desserts
Highly recommend this place. We would definitely return.
