In a refined, sober but elegant setting, tables comfortably spacious and spread, a young team delivers an enthusiastic eating experience. We had the 52 euros menu gastronomique, a seven-meal succession of elaborate tastes, such as fresh pasta with cream and black truffles, scallop and lobster carpaccio with ginger and horseradish, chicken breast in a divine juice, quenelles de brochet, 3 cheeses, and 2 desserts (tatin style pie, and an out of this world cream and orange creation, one of the best desserts we have had in 50 years!
All that washed with a 2009 Chambolle-Musigny, recommended by the staff, which at 104 euros the bottle is reasonably priced, considering its incredible quality and the fact that the mark up is only double, compared to the usual 3x or 4x.
We were looking for a romantic experience. We got that, plus an incredibly good dinner at a very very reasonable price, given the effort and quality involved.
