“Excellent location”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We had never been in Dijon before and the location of this hotel, right in the center of the old city, made it easy to cover all the sights on foot. Dijon turned out to be a really interesting and beautiful city. Getting to the hotel is a little tricky because of the narrow one-way streets, and the parking lot is pretty far from the hotel. Approaching the hotel by car, following our GPS, before we reached the hotel we stopped in a parking lot behind the building across the street from the hotel to unload the car. Then, with our voucher for the parking garage, we moved the car to the garage. Even though the garage is a fairly long walk from the hotel, if you don't mind walking it can be a chance to do some good sightseeing along the way. The staff of the hotel are nice and the rooms are straightforward, clean and comfortable. We had no complaints about the hotel and its location made it a really good choice. By the way, we ate at a really good restaurant next to the Saint Benigne church, called Le Gril Laure. It is a "pizza" restaurant (we were traveling with a child), but it is much more than that. Dijon is well worth a trip and the Hotel des ducs is a good place to stay to see it.

This is a typical French hotel with a very small elevator in an old building. The room is good and very clean and totally renovated without carpet. The free Wi-Fi works only in the lobby. It is a basic hotel with a great location for exploring the old part of the town. I booked the garage and I almost got lost driving to the garage because the old town is a maze. So be careful.

Room Tip: 301 is beside the elevator so no steps.

Damage your overall rating of "average" whereas reading your description you present a good hotel in our category 3 stars.
Our hotel is entirely renovated.
Sorry for the streets of the city center, but the charm of the history of our city that has been completely renovated delivered to you in its authenticity!!

I drove down from the UK to Chamonix and stopped in Dijon along the way. Besides finding out that Dijon was an amazing city, I was pleased to stay in a good hotel. The price was reasonable, but to be honest could have been slightly cheaper.
Nonetheless, the thing that struck me most, was that the room was very clean. Also there is underground secure parking (for a small fee of course)
The best thing about this hotel is the location, it is perfect for exploring Dijon. I also liked the little bar next door.
I have to also mention the staff, so friendly and polite, made me feel like a guest in someones home not just a customer. I will return, even though I think I paid 20 euros more than other similar hotels, the service makes up for it.

My sister-in-law was over from the USA and we wanted to spend a few days in Dijon en route to the South-East. The hotel was chosen because of its location and it did not disappoint. Within minutes of the main door there is the Dukes' Palace and enough eating places to satisfy the most fastidious diner. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke far better English than my French. There is a parking garage in the building. If you want parking I believe it must be booked - we had indicated that we wanted parking when we made our reservation. We were grateful for the sat nav getting us to the hotel since the old town is a maze of one-way streets. This is a great hotel to explore Dijon which is a super place to visit.

We stayed for 4 nights in a superior room. Yes, the rooms are a bit small and I was pleased that we had booked the better room. And yes, there is no mini bar (no problem) or a safe (would have liked one as I always use them).

But the location is really great near the old square and the English speaking staff could not have been more helpful. The small liftjwas not a problem for us as we travel light but there are steps down from the lift to most rooms. If you want a room on the level there are one or two. See tip below. We thought the breakfast was fine- good French continental. And again,, there are staff on hand to deliver warm croissants and rolls.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with no steps e.g 301

We had a warm welcome by the Hotel. Our room was large and pleasant with a little balcony. We had a good size bed which was comfortable. The room was basic in there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was a cold buffet and was most pleasant. The breakfast area very clean and fresh looking. The staff were always very friendly and most helpful. The location was excellent for walking in beautiful Dijon.
