“a good basic 2 star hotel.”
Reviewed 11 October 2013 via mobile

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the station, about 10 minutes slightly uphill. Rolling baggage was not a problem but the pavement can be a little uneven.
I had a reasonable size room. Basically furnished with what looks like a new bathroom installation. Electric and an enclosed courtyard made it very quiet. The bed was comfortable.
As others have said, its a short walk to a number of eating places. There is a Spar supermarket a few metres away (turn left out of the hotel).
Reasonable French breakfast range.
Only thing I missed was tea/coffee making facilities, but this is not unusual in small French hotels.

Just arrived at Hotel Thurot. Nicw welcome and room very clean - looks out onto small courtyard so very quiet.

All clean and tidy but no kettle or coffee making facilities - I came prepared though as this is normal in France.

Good sized room with two decent sized double beds - and i am on my own so loads of space.

Car park a little small but I got my 5 series BMY in with no problem. Gates locked at 10pm think.

In room wifi free of charge as well so that is a bonus.

All in all pretty good value for money.

Room Tip: Ground floor helps with luggage

most reviews fairly accurate. The room we stayed in was big and spacious with three beds as they didnt have any spare twins it had a large new bathroom. However, the beds definitely need replacing, very lumpy, not a good nights sleep at all!!. Quircky decor, typical of many 2* french hotels, blinds were a challenge to close, parking e5 per night in a very small car park. All in all a good stay, breakfast perfectly adquate, typical continental type. Would return if I was ever in Dijon again. Close to shoppping, about 10 mins walk. Ate at a very good restaurant off the square.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor looking over the car park, quiet and spacious, if you are a family...

We stayed for 2 nights here, basic room, why if you ask for a two bed room are you always given the worst aspect in the hotel? Beds showing their age, bathroom okay, parking at 5 euro a night a bit pricey, good location though walking distance to city. Reception staff friendly and helpful.

If you'd booked the Hotel Thurot for a stay of several days, you'd likely be disappointed. For one en route night, it's OK.

The hotel does not have it's own restaurant, but is situated within 10 minutes walk of a wide range of reasonable establishments - Le Gril Faure is particularly good.

The rooms are small with basic furniture. Beds are serviceable, but showing their age. Our bathroom was tiny and in need of a basilica refurb. Continental breakfast was OK.

Overall, for the price, the Thurot is Just about acceptable for a short stay, but then, it's only a 2-star and a way off getting it's third.

We visited Burgundy in Oct and set base in Dijon for the wine tours, booking Hotel Thurot in advance. The first thing we did was get the tourist map from the Information Center, and we had no difficulty at all making it on foot with rolling luggage within 10 mins from the train station. The hotel itself is pretty good for the price (used as we were to much more basic hotels at similar and higher prices and 'stars' in the rest of France) - with free parking, free and good Wi-Fi, and all the basic amenities, non-problematic heating etc. Good enough for a couple of days, in a nice quiet neighbourhood - and pretty much close to all the attractions on the Owl Trail which we did entirely on foot from the hotel. It has a decent (if slightly overpriced) breakfast and some eateries in a few blocks.

Says it's a 2*, and I say it does well for itself.

This hotel is in a quiet part of Dijon and only 5 minutes from the station. There's a nice walk down to the Place de la Liberation through the Darcy Garden and shopping streets which takes 15 minutes at the most. The rooms are quiet, spacious (I was in a twin room) and clean, however the windows of the rooms were dirty... There's a functional bathroom with hot water. I was disappointed there were no tea making facilities in the rooms and also surprised that though they have a bar they don't serve wine! I feel that 66€ for a twin room is a good price and if you're on a budget is worth it.

Room Tip: Room 30 is a twin room with a bath with shower head on taps (à la française!) Room 28 is a twin room...
