“Great for family!”
Reviewed 14 November 2011

Just stayed there yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised by the large and neat room at this hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly too. 2 double beds in 2 separate rooms. However, heater not powerful enough, so I was a little cold in the night. Other than that, great for my family for a one night stay.

This hotel is placed some minutes by foot from the old downtown.
It's a small hotel, old fashion, any luxury facilities, but is worth for the price. For only 1 night or 1 w-end is perfect, if you wanna an hotel only to shower and sleep.
The room I've been has a good size and very clean. The staff is pleasent and the breakfast is excellent for the price. There is a parking under the hotel for the guests.
If someday I'll be back to Dijon, this hotel is the place to be.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with the view to the garden. They are quiet.

We tried booking this hotel for three nights but they only had two available, probably because of good reviews online. It's quaint on the outside and has a nice, wood panel look on the inside. All of the front desk staff we dealt with spoke good English and were helpful. We arrived earlier than planned and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until we could check in later. I was most struck by the trust and faith in us as travelers... they didn't want a credit card or any payment on check in. The room was small, as expected, but comfortable. I can't say the same about the bed; it was the worst we encountered of the seven French hotels we visited. There was no blow dryer in the bathroom but they had one had the front desk. Breakfast was basic bread and jam served in a nice sitting area. The location is good: about 10-15 minutes from the train station and about the same to the center of the old town. For the price it is a nice value.

I was in Burgundy this past weekend. I did send out an online inquiry during the week before arriving and was offered a single room on the garden side of the building. When I arrived, I was given a family room with three beds. The window faced into the main road, so it was a bit noisy. I asked to change to a single but there were no more available. On the plus side, I was able to run myself a bath because there was a bathtub, and the room was very spacious. I think the reviews here are quite accurate. Free wi-fi and baggage storage. If you decide to have breakfast (€6) it's coffee or tea with a glass of orange juice, a basket of bread and mini croissant and pain au chocolat. The advantage of the hotel is its location. It's less than ten minutes from the train station as well as the city center and walkable to Auditorium in Clemenceau. I saw an Opera there which finished quite late, and was very happy to discover I didn't have to take a taxi because I didn't know the bus routes.

Room Tip: ask for a room "sur jardin"

The only hotel where we called to book a room and they only took our names (no credit card # was required to confirm our booking). Overall, it was nice old fashioned service where they helped with my heavy baggage up the stairs and allowed us to park the car even after checkout. Check-in and out was a breeze and while not overly friendly, it was fast and efficient.

Room Tip: While there are no elevators, the staircase is very wide and luggage can be easily manouevered.

We stayed here one night in September 2011 on our way from Paris to start a boat trip through the canals of Burgundy. Will rate it as a five star for a two star property. It is a clean, quiet, comfortable, and convenient hotel. If you are looking for a resort feel or intense concierge support, this isn’t for you. Rather, it is for those who want a reasonable place to stay that simply provides a base for sleep and shower while you spend your time exploring and experiencing the local culture. We would definitely stay here again. (Yes, the wall sconces could use some updates and the nightstands were old, but the clean and neat factor trumped the décor factor.)

To start: we found the hotel on Trip Advisor; emailed the hotel and within a day had a very pleasant response confirming a room was available. We confirmed the price (54 Euro + 1,60 Euro in taxes; breakfast was available for 6 Euros each as well) and reserved the room within the day. We emailed twice more with questions and they pleasantly and quickly answered each email. Very helpful management!

Getting there: it is a very reasonable 10 minute walk from the Dijon train station. We were wearing backpacks and pulling rolling duffle bags and it was still a comfortable walk to and from the train station.

On arrival: our room was ready and check-in took a minute at most. The receptionist spoke very little English and we spoke very little French but we managed to communicate quite well. Note that there is no elevator in the hotel and all rooms are up 1 or 2 floors so all luggage must be carried upstairs.

The room: clean, standard European size for a double bed room. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Separate toilet room and shower/bidet/sink room included in the room. Small flat screen TV mounted on wall with access to local channels. Opening the window and shutters was a treat. Our view was over the back garden filled with very mature trees and greenery. Even nicer, it was incredibly quiet and peaceful, although only a ten minute walk from Dijon city centre.

Location: perfect! 10 minute walk to train station, 10 minutes to city centre for shopping, the food halles, ATM machines, and restaurants.

Checkout: Took less than a minute, they accepted our AMEX; check out time was 1100; we checked out at 0930 and left all our luggage in their care while we explored Dijon for a few hours and then returned around 1330 to pick up our luggage and depart.

For Americans who like chilled drinks: the bar about 100 yards down the street very pleasantly filled our Ziploc bag with ice cubes so we could chill a bottle of wine in our room.

Room Tip: Rooms on back face garden and may be quieter. All rooms are up 1 or 2 flights of stairs.
