We saw the menu for this restaurant at the hotel we were staying at and thought it looked good for a special treat for the first meal of our holiday. There were quite a few people eating there when we arrived which seemed like a good sign.
The restaurant is very attractive with three separate seating areas which makes it seem more intimate and the staff were friendly.
The menu had lots of choices with some complicated sounding dishes and this turned out to be a problem. Portions for starters and main courses were small and over elaborate with too many competing flavours. We both had crab for a starter but there was so little on the plate you were hard pushed to taste the crab. The wine list was on the expensive side although they do offer a house wine. We went for a Chinon that was 31 euros for a pretty average wine.
Whilst we enjoyed the evening and the ambience of the restaurant we both felt that there was too little food for the money and that it was over elaborate. For 2 starters, 2 mains and wine it was over 100 euros. We were expecting traditional French cuisine with a modern touch but were disappointed.
