I found our hotel Le Pavillon De Lys on trip advisor while planning our Loire Valley vacation. It sounded good, but I had no idea how great it was until we got here. First of all, the directions were easy to follow. The hotel has a parking area which is unusual for this small town. We were greeted by a very friendly woman and her husband who spoke perfect English. The second floor room was Huge! It had a king bed, a small table , sofa, and closet and drawers. We could actually unpack for a few days. It was beautifully decorated in white with red accents, and the modern bathroom was also much larger than any we have seen in France with a shower with 8 shower jets as well as a full tub for relaxing after a long day touring castles. It conveniently located to shops, restaurants and the castle . We enjoyed our stay here and our dinners at Chez Bruno and L' Epiciere. So delicious! A great place to stay in Amboise! CTL Dallas

Room Tip: Double deluxe very quiet room on second floor

We stayed 3 nights at the Pavillon des Lys and found it a thoroughly charming and comfortable boutique hotel.

We stayed in room 21 which was on the second floor (no lift) and which had a fantastic view over the Chateau d'Amboise.

The hotel is beautifully furnished with a mixture of the modern and old and the attention to detail is impressive - très chic!

Our room was large with a very comfortable king bed, lovely duvet and bed linens and a large bathroom with a free standing bath and shower and all the amenities (and the view!) .

The free (and fast) wi-fi was much appreciated.

A comprehensive breakfast is served at 14 Euro per person (eggs extra!), which, although a little expensive, is beautifully served in the immaculate dining room on the ground floor.

The owner Sébastien is charming and runs the hotel with exquisite efficiency.

The location is perfect - a short stroll from the town centre - and parking is easy in the hotel grounds.

We would highly recommend this hotel.

A perfect little hotel right in the centre of Amboise. We stayed in a traditional bedroom in January.
Very comfortable furnishings with a king size bed. The bathroom was huge with an oldfashioned bathtub, separate shower and a separate toilet! One minor concern was the safe was not bolted to the floor or wall and could be lifted out of the cupboard (so not very safe). Vincent was extremely helpful with restaurant bookings and explaining my gluten free requirements to the restaurants when booking. I would definitely choose to stay again if we return to Amboise.

Room Tip: Our bedroom was on the second floor. There is no lift so if stairs are a problem request a room on...

This was an unexpected little jewel box hotel in the heart of Amboise, two minutes from the Chateau entrance. The hotel is an ideal, though quite unexpected mix of a centuries old mansion renovated with top of the line upgrades-amenities and decorated in chic, understated mid-century modern. Owner-chef Sebastian clearly has a passion for client service and luxury travel. Ask for a glass of wine for yourself and sodas for the children and Sebastian brings it with an elegant tray of house-made canapes and crisps. The entire staff were helpful in every way and extremely charming with our children. This is a true find.

Room Tip: Ask for the Prestige Suite. It has a large private terrace, which would be heaven on a warm summer e...

My wife & I stayed at the Le Pavillion in early September and had a fantastic time. The hotel is right in the heart of the town and it's only a 10min walk to the Royal Chateau, 20mins to Leonardo Da Vinci's house and just a few minutes to most of the restaurants. We booked a Superior Deluxe double room (165 Euro / night) room which opened out onto the small car park but this really wasn't an issue and had a table and chair to sit outside in the afternoon sunshine and have a drink. Our room was decorated to a high standard, very clean and spacious with small sofa / table. There is a small secluded garden at the back of the property which was very pleasant. Both Sebastian and Vincent were extremely helpful - from the our first email enquiry all the way through to helping with restaurant bookings etc. nothing was too much trouble. We have breakfast each morning in the hotel (an additional 14 Euro's / day) and whilst a little on the expensive side it was comprehensive and consisted of a selection of cereals, fresh croissants & breads, fresh fruit, yogurts cold meats and cheeses - everything was very fresh and there was more than enough to fill you up - eggs could be ordered for an extra charge. We ate in town each evening - La Roma (very informal & really good pizza), Restaurant l'Amboiserie (situated at the base of the Chateau - extensive menu and food was good), La Reserve (great food and fantastic service - suggest you book). We both really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

We were so happy to discover this gem of a boutique hotel. Going off rave reviews on trip advisor, we booked and stayed here for five nights. We had a gorgeous room for only $98 euros, with maid service sometimes two times a day. The king sized bed was really comfortable, everything was sparkling, immaculate (and I am picky) and the bathroom was huge with a giant tub. The staff were friendly, warm and spoke English. It was elegant and boutique, located within a three mi nute walk to town. Very quiet. Breakfast was extra but incredible with homemade pastries. It seemed newly renovated.Free wifi, new flat screens with DVDs that you could rent. There were more posh rooms available too. Definitely book this one.

Room Tip: There are stairs to the rooms.
