Stayed overnight with family on way to north of France. The Hotel has a great, quiet location with view to the Chateau d'Amboise. Great facilities and the standard size Novotel family rooms. Excellent convertible sofa to make up 2 surprisingly comfortable extra beds. Good service both for dinner and breakfast. Excellent choice for the latter, a bit limited for the former. Good wine list with 'local touch' - reasonably priced. Overall good value and we would definitely stay again. With a good size outdoor pool, tennis courts and a mini golf course, the children are well taken care of.

Room Tip: We had a family room at ground level facing the garden and it was very quiet.

We would recommend this hotel for a family visit. While it is not in walking distance of the town centre for evening meals and shops, it has a perfect view of the town and castle which is easily reached by car. There is free car parking a few minutes walk from the lively town centre where we wandered each evening before choosing our restaurant for an evening meal.

The hotel facilities are comfortable, clean and well tended. We had wanted to stay in an authentic local hotel but when we saw the small hotels in the town centre we knew that we had made the right choice. The pool was great with gorgeous views from the infinity pool side.

The breakfast was more than ample with excellent choice. We were very pleased we paid extra for breakfast each day as it set us up for our long days out!

Chenonceau castle is less than half an hour drive away and, in the opinion of our family, is a must. Quite lovely with beautiful gardens.

Room Tip: Worth paying for superior as these overlooked pool or valley views, rather than car park

The Novotel is a low-rise modern building located a few km outside Amboise and so is not very convenient for visiting the town or for going out to nearby shops and restaurants. However, it has a great view of town from its location.

The location is quiet, and the rooms are standard Novotel, meaning adequate without being lavish, and well thought out. In-room safe, kettle and flatscreen TV are standard. The room was spacious, which is something of a luxury in France, and the bed was very comfortable for sleeping in.

Breakfast was excellent in the airy dining area, and overall I had a very pleasant experience in this hotel. The location meant it was quiet but was also slightly inconvenient if you don't have your own transport. It is a good place from which to explore Amboise and the surrounding countryside.

We spent two nights here as part of a tour of northern France. Our room was large and well equipped with very necessary air conditioning.

It took about 30 minutes to walk into Amboise but as it was uphill on the way back, we took a taxi.

We ate dinner and breakfast both days and were satisfied with our meals.

I spent a couple of hours on one afternoon by the swimming pool. It was very relaxing and enjoyable as I virtually had it to myself. The view across to the Chateau was stunning.
