This is one of the most beautiful hotels that I have ever stayed in! It felt as if I was staying in someone's private home. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, and have modern large bathrooms. The owners and employees are delightful, friendly and so helpful with restaurant suggestions and guidance for touring the area. You are within walking distance to the Chateau and the main town center. Centrally located with easy driving access to lots of other Loire Valley chateaus. I can't wait to return!

Le Manoir Minimes was a perfect place for our trip to the Loire Valley. The rooms were lovely and the service was extra ordinary.
There was parking which was important since we had a car.
Centrally located, allowed us to visit all the Chateaux and wineries with ease.

My husband and I stayed in Amboise overnight en route to Gascony earlier this summer. I found the hotel in the "Special Places to Stay" guide and I'm so glad we built our route around it, it was wonderful, probably the best hotel I've stayed in. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble.

Our room on the ground floor overlooking the front garden was spotless. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was fully stocked with high quality toiletries, robes, slippers... The room itself was of a very high standard - traditionally decorated with 4 large windows and a lovely view across to the chateau. We had our own entrance from the front of the hotel which meant it was very quiet as no-one was coming and going outside. There is no restaurant in the hotel to serve an evening meal but the concierge was able to find us a table in a very nice creperie in central Amboise (5 mins walk away).

Breakfast the next morning was delicious and a real highlight of the stay - a basket of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries on the table, fresh flowers, fruit juices plus a continental breakfast buffet and cereals. There was a choice of tea or coffee and the pain au chocolats were divine - the best I've ever tasted!

This is a fabulous hotel, a real treat to stay in and the perfect way to start our holiday - we can't wait to go back next year!

Despite having read some really good reviews, this hotel surpassed our expectations. We stayed for 2 nights enroute to Honfleur from Ile D'Oleron (after staying also at Pont Aven, Brittany) and before we arrived in Brugge. All our destinations turned out to be jewels in a crown of jewels - with this hotel and Amboise being absolutely sparkling.
We stayed in a traditional room - which had old beams, a spacious bedroom, beautiful bathroom complete with slippers and gowns and separate wc. Our view was great - looking over the river and the castle.
The staff were extremely helpful, eager to please and make reservations - which is a must should you wish to eat at the best places in town. (I recommend the L'Epicerie on the busy street next to the castle - the food was perfection, even the escargots which I plucked up courage to order. And La Scala, a really great Italian! )
I must stress that we thought the breakfast was excellent value for money (and that is from a Yorkshire person). There were cold meats, boiled eggs, yoghurts, fresh and dried fruits, cereals, pureed fruit to start with, fruit juice, cheeses, creamed rice, breads, preserves, and even bananas. With the usual selection of tea, coffee and chocolate - and thats all I can remember. The breakfast room was extremely elegant, and spacious and we ate there both days.
A perfect location, with secure parking (free) and well just lovely. We visited the Clos Luce which again I recommend. We have saved the castle until next time as there definitely will be another visit planned - possibly enroute to Millau next year.

Fantastic hotel with a very short walk to all the attractions in Amboise and literally accross the road from the Loire. The room was large, light and airy. A very nice touch was that whilst we were in town having dinner, the staff had turned down the bed, put the night lights on and had a bit of a tidy up and thoughfully left a next day weather report on our pillows.

The lounge is beautiful, full of ornate furniture and the patio area was charming.

The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Watch out though, the owner has somehow managed to cross his dog with a horse which although huge, is like the hotel both calm and genteel.

This is one of the nicest hotels in which we have stayed. Its situated just below the Chateau Amboise and faces it. From our room (superior) we could see the Chat and the bridge that goes over the river nearby. At night with these lit up, it was a most stunning sight. Friends had a cheaper room one floor above and even though the room was not as opulant it was still lovely and faced the Chat also and thus had a beautiful view.
THe hotel is done out with the most exquisite taste, everything is lovely and carefully chosen to enhance the ambience of the historical building which is the hotel.
The staff were extremely welcoming, particularly as we'd called ahead to say we may be late in arriving due to an horrendous attempt to drive out of Paris! TIP - use and print out Michelin guide map directions if you are without a GPS. We drove around Paris for about 3 hours or more before we could find the main freeway to Amboise - head for Bordeaux folks! So we were very touched when the reception manager came out to greet us as we arrived and kindly showed us inside. He was also magnificent a few days later, ringing me to tell me that our travelling companions had left their passports in the room safe! Never mind- they were couriered on to Amiens for a modest amount and were waiting when we arrived there 2 days later. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough and coupled with the fact that Amboise is a beautiful Loire town, I would say go there and enhance your visit to France by staying in this hotel. We were lucky to have our visit also coincide with the Spring Fair so had the pleasure of watching 45minutes of fireworks over the bridge/river from our room on the Saturday night. Pinch me to see if I'm awake!
