Le Manoir Les Minimes was just the perfect place to stay for our 5 days visiting the Loire Valley. Amboise itself is central to all of the sights and Le Manoir is the icing on the cake. The staff could not be more helpful in taking our luggage to serving our breakfast and best of all they make wonderful suggestions for dinner. We stayed in the yellow suite which overlooks the Loire River and the Amboise Chateau, it was very relaxing with a seperate living area, cable tv, mini bar and free internet available. My only thoughts would be to incorporate the breakfast into the overall room rate rather than having a seperate charge with greater variety. The recommended restaurants that we ate at were Le Lion d'Or, L'Epirerie and also La Scala, all three restaurants had wonderful food and great service, all in walking distance of the property. In all of my travels, this would be the best service I have had at a hotel, outstanding. Thankyou to all at Le Manoir Les Minimes.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the Chateaux of the Loire valley.
We found it Charming and Elegant. The staff were attentive without being intrusive.
It is the little touches that distinguish a good hotel form a great one, and Le Manoir les Minimes has them. The owners couldn't have been more helpful in advising where to eat and what to see. The decor is delightful,so very tasteful throughout.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast a basket of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries on the table, fresh flowers, fruit juices plus a continental breakfast buffet and cereals. There was a choice of tea or coffee and the pain au chocolats were divine.
Don't forget to meet the resident dog Olga, a real softie
This truly is a superb hotel

I highly recommend this hotel as a base of operations for visiting the chateaux and other sites in the Loire Valley. Since it was low season, we had the Manoir (and pretty much anywhere else we went) virtually to ourselves and received plenty of personal attention from Pierre, the charming front desk clerk, the owners and resident dog Olga. Our Deluxe Manor room was spacious, spotless and tastefully decorated, with a lovely view of the Chateau d'Amboise and the Loire River. The bathroom was large and modern. Both the king-size bed and the pull-out sofa bed -- which the staff turned down carefully each evening when we were away at dinner -- were very comfortable. Pay the extra 13 Euro for breakfast and linger in the pretty yellow dining room over coffee and croissants.

Amboise served our needs perfectly for a short get-away. It's within easy driving distance of the TGV station in Tours, but far enough away that you can experience the beauty and slower pace of the Loire Valley. Chenonceau, Cheverny, Chambord, Villandry are all nearby and easily found thanks to well-placed road signs. If you're in Amboise on a Sunday, visit the farmer's market and take some local cheeses and bread on your road trip.

Quite a few of the local restaurants were closed for the season, but plenty of good dining options remained. Pierre recommended Le Pavillion des Lys for our first night. This was a memorable gourmet meal, a pretty amazing value (39E for an 8 course meal) and a great place to start our trip. Don't miss it. Pierre was also on the mark with a more casual recommendation, Le Salamadre, where we put an end to our run of rich French food with simple but tasty omelettes and crepes.

It's a ok place to stay. We stayed on the only room available and this was not the best room in the hotel. I supose the other rooms were better, as biger and nicer furniture. The bathroom was ok, clean and spacious. Nice dining and livingroom. Friendly staff.

My wife and I fretted a bit about staying here because we usually choose charming B&Bs and are used to a bit lower price point for our accommodations. However after looking at many locations in Amboise and nearby, we simply could not find anything nearly as nice as this. We were very glad we splurges with the room rates and got their deluxe room which is on the second floor with a terrific view out the front with the Castle and sunsets right there.

The room was truly great. Elegant and comfortable. The bath rooming was impeccable with toiletries provided as typical with a hotel rather than a B&B. There were terry robes, excellent WiFi, good closets, safe box and mini bar fridge. The bed was great and the linens very fine. The room has spotless maid service.

The public rooms were elegant and filled with light. The breakfast room was beautiful. The terrace was also very inviting. There was an open bar area (for a charge) and some room service food items available but we did not partake of them.

The staff was very friendly and professional and quite fun when having lighthearted conversations with them.

many have complained in their reviews about the high priced breakfast surcharge and we too thought that the price at first glance was very high. We thought we might try to cruise into town to get something cheaper, but when we checked prices, they were not very much cheaper. We decided to try the breakfast once. Well, it was just excellent. The china and tea/coffee service were beautiful and the buffet had more food than anyone could eat. There were even eggs (hardboiled) and ham along with all the other typical large French breakfast standards and some cold cereals. We realized that when considering the prices that we were already paying for the room, the beautiful surroundings and decor, the quality of the food, and the sheer convenience of eating on the property, that it was well worth it. We ended up eating all four of our breakfasts there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

I think it would be better for them to raise their room rates and include the breakfast so that people would not have to gnash their teeth over whether to partake of the breakfast or not, but i am sure they have their well thought out reasons.

We really enjoyed our stay here and have no negative comments to make at all. Non-stuffy luxury all the way. Oh, and free secured parking in their front lot on the property - that was very nice!

One quirk. When you register they ask for a deposit and actually charge your charge card. This is quite unusual in my experience and at first I was put off by it, but our experience at the hotel made all of that melt away.

My 15 year old daughter and I stayed two nights at "Minimes" in November. The hotel was easy to find in the dark! (with GPS...) - when we arrived we were greeted by the most friendly staff that spoke lovely English to our horrible French. The front desk clerk insisted on carrying our bags up to a cosy third floor room in the attic of the manoir. There was everything you could want in the hotel, an informal bar downstairs, lovely room, lots of common rooms for lounging, a gorgeous courtyard, view of the Loire, great breakfast where your drink selections were remembered, sheepdog at the door. The staff recommended a local restaurant that was great and even called ahead to help us work out the menu, good internet access. The town of Amboise is a great base for journeys to the local chateaux, and wine tasting in Vouvray. One word of caution, there were signs all over banning outside food and beverages at the hotel, on the grounds, even in your room - so lock your sandwiches and that fine bottle of wine in your trunk at Minimes!
