A gorgeous hotel in a beautiful location. Wonderful staff, low-key and very helpful. Amboise itself is a gem - don't miss the food at the Lion d'Or down the street. If approaching from the east, just note the entrance is a gate facing the opposite way - doable in a small car only.

I stayed here for one night with my husband on our way back from the south of France to Ireland. After a long day's drive, it was a pleasure to arrive to the peaceful and welcoming manoir. We found the service excellent yet unobtrusive. We chose a suite and found it both tastefully and thoughtfully appointed. Excellent linens and amenities added to the comfort. The gentleman on reception was most helpful recommending a suitable restaurant for dinner and serving us an aperitif in our room. The public areas are lovely. Breakfast was extremely high quality and plentiful and well worth the €13. All in all excellent. Our only regret was that we were not staying for longer. Looking forward to returning.

The Vallee-de-la-Loire has a lot to offer and almost everyone, regardless of budget can find something that they can afford. Once in a while, you do get to find a hidden gem worth paying a little bit more for - Hotel Le Manoir les Minimes is such a place!

The Manoir is separated in two buildings, with many rooms offering views of the castle and/or the river. Staff is very friendly and will offer to review amenities, bring your luggage to your room, book restaurant reservations (and offer some recommendations).

Room size is generous and the room/bathroom features all standard amenities that one would expect to find in a "hotel" room.

Location-wise, Amboise is a very compact town so everything is close by. The manoir is located next to the water. When driving to the Manoir, it is easy to miss the main entrance as it is located at the corner of the street and the entrance is not very wide. The manoir is approx. 5-10 minutes walking distance to the entrance of the castle and most restaurant in town.

The hotel does not have a restaurant on site, but a full and generous breakfast is offered on-site in the morning. Breakfast isn't cheap but in this case well worth it as you are already "splurging" if you have elected to stay at this place. By splurging though, I do not mean expensive - as it is still relatively affordable versus north american standards. Just that the place is "higher end"

Everything is clean and well maintained. AC worked fine.

Highly recommended

We had the corner suite #10 with a view of the chateau and the river. It was fantastic. Comfortable large sitting room and spacious state of the art bathroom.

The staff was extremely helpful in arranging tours and making reservations. Pierre is a gem!!

This has to been one of the nicest places. 5 minute walk to town. Room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Our room had a shower. Breakfast was your basic European was enough to get your day started. Staff was very helpful. Would definetly stay here again!
