This place was the highlight of my entire 10 day trip to France. I was here with my Mom and we both agree this place was our favorite!!!!! I was in Paris, Mt. St. Michel, Bayeux..all wonderful but this place is just perfect. The owners are delightful and so helpful... even before we arrived! Breakfast is wonderful! We had wonderful food, but also meeting many people. The room and home was gorgeous and the view spectacular! Amboise is a lovely village, close to many castles and historical locations. The castle behind the B&B is really lovely! I wish I stayed longer at this location it was just wonderful!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Kings Room which has spectacular views and decorated to perfection!! The windows e...

Everything was absolutely totally gorgeous! Fantastic Location beetwen the wall oh the castle Ambuise and the Loire, friendly and helpful owners, cleanest and comfortable authentic room this good view. We have no words to describe always. It was very nice to have chat during the breakfast with other guests and owners and to exchange our impressions and plans regarding visiting the castles. Tim and Caroline! Hope to see you next year! :-)

We had the pleasure of staying at Les Fleurons in mid October. Tim and Carolyn are lovely hosts and made our stay so very enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Our room looked directly at the Amboise castle, which we loved. The breakfast was wonderful with fruit, juices, meats and cheeses, croissants and bagettes with homemade jam (very yummy!) hot beverages and eggs if desired--just right to start the day and keep you going! We loved Amboise and all it had to offer, but we especially liked Les Fleurons for all the comforts and warmth of a special place, and look forward to returning. Plan a stay here, you will be happy you did!!

Room Tip: Book early as this is a real find.

Les Fleurons is located within an historic property situated in front of the chateau walls and the Loire. Accessing the main entrance was a little tricky as our GPS did not recognize a key turn, but it is quite easy realizing that one must drive through the gate leading to the chateau royal, then immediately left on the first street. Luckily, we secured a free parking spot on the street near the premises as it was pouring rain. There is also a free parking lot down by the river in front of the B&B. Tim greeted us at the door and Carolyn quickly refreshed us with a cup of tea. The rooms are decorated in period motif, with a large wardrobe for storage, a comfortable bed with lovely linens and a separate alcove for the antique tub and wash basin. The oversized windows lead to stunning views of the Loire, especially at sunrise and sunset. There is a lovely sitting room for guests and an adjacent dining room that can accommodate everyone for breakfast. We enjoyed catching up with fellow travellers each morning while enjoying the sumptuous fare provided by our attentive hosts. The property is convenient for strolling to the old part of town, the many restaurants there and on the island, the Sunday market and with a short drive, to many of the Loire chateaux. There is so much to see in this area that three days was not enough, but our choice of Les Fleurons made the visit one of our best experiences on a 5-week driving holiday in France.

Tim and Carolyn are absolutely wonderful at this beautiful B&B. From planning our trip to dropping us at the train station our stay was absolutely delightful. The value for the price is outstanding and they both were able to share interesting facts and advice about Amboise and the surrounding area.

The rooms all have a wonderful view of either the Loire River or the Chateau d'Amboise. The beds are extremely comfortable and bathrooms are brand new. There are a few cats roaming the house but unless allergies are a problem they don't cause any problem at all.

I would love to plan another trip to Amboise just to stay here! Absolutely fabulous!

Our hosts were warm and welcoming and provided great recommendations in respect of restaurants and sightseeing. The room was beautiful, very clean with great wifi and had a view of the castle right across the street. The breakfast was delicious and we got to meet other couples that stayed there. The garden is also lovely. We loved our stay in Amboise.

On our arrival in Amboise we found our accommodation, Les Fleurons, without too much difficulty, and once again we were pleased we had done our homework. This little place was in the most perfect location – nestled at the foot of the castle, with views of the turbulent Loire River. Our hosts, Tim and Carolyn Knowlman (expat Brits), were warm, friendly and helpful, just lovely people. Their efficient and cheerful assistance on a number of occasions added to the ease and pleasure of our stay.

Having forewarned them that we are vegetarians, Tim had contacted a number of fine restaurants in the town to check out options for us, ensuring they would have something to offer the eccentric visitors! Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, whether it was making reservations for dinner or changing our hire car return point, they pleasantly got on with it, and everything was taken care of in a jiffy. After numerous meals ‘out’, we were very appreciative of them storing our cold produce bought at the markets in the morning so that we could eat in the beautiful walled garden of the B&B that evening for dinner.

Breakfasts were a delightful social event – with guests gathered around the large dining table, swapping numerous travel stories. It was great getting feedback and recommendations from fellow travellers about the area. And the ample and varied food laid out at breakfast set us up well for our châteaux explorations during the day.

We stayed in the Gabeau suite, which is configured with twin beds (the rooms with double beds were already taken), but were very happy with the extra space. Having a small sitting room exclusively ours (reached across a private landing) provided views of the castle behind us, and our bedroom gave us perfect views of the river. The antique furniture enhanced the ‘back in time’ feel of staying in such a beautiful old building, but the new bathrooms gave the modern comforts we all expect on holiday (just watch the low doorway into the bathroom if you are tall!).

Upon leaving, lengthy goodbyes were exchanged with our lovely hosts (and the cats!). Recommendations were swapped on future travel adventures, and we gained some restaurant tips for our next jaunt to Melbourne. We will definitely be staying with Tim and Carolyn the next time we visit the Loire!
