My wife and I, seniors, were touring France by train and stopped in Amboise with a view to taking a minibus tour to see some of the Loire chateaux. Rick Steves' France 2011 Guidebook suggests Acco-Dispo and we signed up for a full-day tour. The tour guide for the morning (for just the two of us) was a young lady and the pick-up right on time and faultless, the minivan modern and comfortable. Acco-Dispo request that you pay in cash at the start of the tour which presumably saves them credit card fees and this was no problem (there was an ATM near the pick-up point in Amboise, likely this is also true for Tours, Acco-Dispo's other pick-up location). While tickets to the chateaux are not included in the (quite reasonable) tour price, they purchase entry tickets to the attractions for you at group rates and this is the price you pay them, a useful saving on the regular entry fees. We visited the gardens at Villandry (beautiful) and the chateau at Azay-le-Rideau (elegant). Our guide was fluent in English, pleasant and efficient. She dropped us in Tours near a lunch/sandwich counter and explained that for logistical reasons we would be changing vehicles and tour guides for the afternoon. The transition was smooth and our afternoon tour guide was Pascal. We visited Chambord (colossal) and Chenonceau (gorgeous) and had passing views of a number of other chateaux. Of our several guides on minibus tours in France, Pascal was the best: fluent in English, very well-informed with a dry sense of humour and well versed in idiom. He took excellent care for the safety of his charges, including an infant on the afternoon tour. Returning to Amboise at the end, he asked which hotel we were using, and since it was on a logical route, dropped us at the door. I recommend Acco-Dispo in general and Pascal in particular: six stars out of five!
