A 10 min walk to Château Amboise and another 10 min to Château Clos de Luce, a 20min drive to Château Chenonceau and 45min drive to Chambord...so, a good location for Châteaux hopping.
The staff was very helpful! Anything we needed was given with a smile at a moment's notice.
We traveled with our children and 1 set of grandparents. We had the Family room with our 2 kids and had to pay an extra 10€ for a second twin bed in the room. This was odd to me because the Family room cost more than a regular room and usually that covers the cost of 4 people to a room. Anyway it had a small sitting area, a WC and bathroom.
My inlaws had the room next door with 1 bed and full bathroom. Both were acceptable and clean when we arrived. The drawback was that neither room was made up the first day...our rooms were in a separate building from the other rooms and that may be why. They were made up the second day and we left on the 3rd.
The restaurant was good! You do have to make your reservation ahead of time but they squeezed us in when two of our group got sick and prevented us from going to town for dinner. As I said the staff was great!
It was quiet on the street and the courtyard/garden was a nice place to have a glass of wine in the evening. We were able to purchase wine and soda from the restaurant and take it outside which was wonderful.
The breakfast buffet was good, with quite a few options. It cost 10,50€ for adults And children. It always irritates me when children are charged the same as adults as they never eat half what an adult eats.
We found a patisserie down the street and got breakfast there the 3rd day for much less than the 63€/day the buffet cost us at the hotel.
Overall our stay was okay. The really great staff made up for the shortcomings for us.
