“Wonderful escape in Amboise”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

The manoir was a wonderful escape for us in Amboise. The grounds were beautiful and our room was adorable and very clean. We had two lovely breakfasts prepared by Annick. While the manoir was a very short drive to downtown Amboise (3 minute drive), we didn't mind it at all. It was a good home base for exploring Loire Valley and the included parking was a perk.

Its a shame we were only able to stay here one night as we really enjoyed our brief stay 'chez Annick' :) our room had everything we needed and was a tasteful mix of modern and traditional and VERY clean. Annick is a lovely host who makes you feel instantly at home. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurts, an amazing array of fresh breads with excellent home made preserves. Annick ensured we came away feeling very well taken care of and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her lovely home to visitors to the area.

I stayed here during Easter weekend to explore Loire Valley. Amboise is really the perfect location to explore Loire Valley. It is in the center of the region and only 2 hour drive away from Paris.

Annick is a great host. She was always helpful but at the same time she also wanted to give the guest privacy at her place. The breakfast was amazing. I don't know where she got the bread from but I wish I could get those amazing breads everyday.

The B&B itself is a great place. The location is perfect, only 2 km away from Chateau Amboise and Chateau du Clos-Luce. The room is well decorated and well maintained. I can imagine it is really a hard work to maintain the property but the people there are always cheerful. If you love animals, you will love the place. They have dogs, cats, horses and llama! Kids would love those animals too.

Overall, I would recommend this place for Loire Valley trip.

My husband and I stayed here and used it as a base to see Amboise as well as some of the surrounding Chateaux in the area. The room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and Annick was delightful. We enjoyed all the animals roaming around and the beautiful grounds. Annick showed us pictures of what the property looked like when she bought it while it was just her and her two young daughters. She has put her blood, sweat, and tears into making it a perfect destination and home (i.e. - the TV stand in the first ground room on the left was found INSIDE the wall). The location was excellent with a car and we were able to drive to the municipal parking and spend time wandering the streets, visiting the shops, and eating wonderful food. The Carrefour is within driving distance (right on the river) with ample parking outside. Annick has a small kitchen set up with a refrigerator, utensils, and wine glasses for guests. It was wonderful to open a bottle of wine and drink it out on the patio. There is also a coin operated laundromat in town and we did laundry while we ate at a local restaurant. We were sad to go but had a lovely stay. Definitely recommended if you can get a room.

Manoir de la Maison Blanche was our base for visiting Loire Valley chateaus. Annick is very attentive and does a great job maintaining this beautiful property. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were ample, the food and service excellent. The location of the manor is convenient for visits to various Chateaus. The property was well maintained, with a field for Annick's horses, a garden, small pond, and to my surprise, two towering redwood trees. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

We spent four nights in Amboise as a base to exploring the Loire Valley. Each day we headed a different direction in search of chateaus and lovely villages. Amboise was an easy drive from CDG. Driving right through Paris wasn't difficult but it was a Saturday.

Maison Blanche is a quiet location at the edge of the city. Finding it was challenging but once we got our bearings it was easy. Using Google maps to navigate with didn't work once we got to Amboise. Roundabouts come in different sizes so be careful. Street signs aren't posted as you might expect. Annick has a couple of directional signs at street corners which is how we eventually found the B&B.

Our room was spotless and huge. Breakfast was delicious. Each morning Annick goes down to a bakery to bring back fresh breads. There's juice and homemade jams. She's a wealth of information and a wonderful hostess who loves her work.

Our group of two couples spent a long weekend at Manior de la Maison Blance. Annick is the perfect hostess. The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. We were also allocated a little private lounge, which was handy for evening games and relaxation. The breakfast on offer was one of the best we have ever had in France. There is a communal kitchen/dining room available as well. The location of the maison is good for visits to various Chateau's and it's about a 10 minute cycle to the pretty town of Amboise. This B&B is certainly to be recommended and we hope to return for a longer stay.
