It was a quiet Monday night. We wandered all over Blois looking for a friendly restaurant that was open. finally, out of the dark came the light - we found La Scala. The service was friendly, the food good (except the crumble starter, avoid that), the decor memorable. We had a lovely night surrounded by locals enjoying the pizza and pasta at a fair price.

The restaurant looks nice and cozy; the ambiance is great and feels warm with the typical Italian aromas coming from the kitchen. We end up there because everywhere else was close at 9PM, The arrival was OK and we were taken to the table and the order taken soon by the waitress.
5 min later the manager or owner came with a bad attitude telling us that we couldn’t share 2 pizzas and we must order 4 because we were 4. We explained that we were not hungry and we were going to order desert. The reply was, if you don't eat, you take away. He refuses to take the order and we have to leave. We end up having dinner at the Hotel restaurant that was really good. I can't comment about the food taste and quality only the service.

Hello, We knowledge your remarks corresponding at our restaurant. We are amazed at your opinion concerning thismanager's behavior . We don't remember an exchange as that one. It's true, we serve one dish per customer. We are lucky enough to have a lot of people and we cannot block reservations without command. We hope to see again you quickly to be tasted the best of our dishes.

I have been eating at this place regularly in the past few years. It used to be renowned as one of the finest places to eat in that section of the city. Time has passed and some things have changed - the pizza aren't necessarily as great as they used to be, it's more crowded now and thus the place is a lot louder, the service is more rushed too - all consequences of the ever-growing popular appeal of the place and its mass success. Although, it has been successful at maintaining certain standards of quality and this is what keeps me going back from time to time. The menu is pretty well furbished with plenty of pizza, pasta, dessert and drink options, you have to look at the walls in order to distinguish the daily offers as well (which usually are worth a shot). Overall the food is pretty good and the pizza are baked on the spot and made to order. It can get pretty busy and the service might occasionally suffer from that, you can tell everyone is in a constant rush but in general the staff is pretty friendly.

Not the calm, quality italian food place it used to be, albeit still a good spot to check if you are looking for a filling meal of slightly above average standards. Hopefully it doesn't get even louder than it has become with time in the future.

English spoken, great friendly service, extensive menu well priced. We had pizzas, thin based, very good. Local wine (rose) an excellent addition.
