This restaurant La Boucherie at Blois is very easy to see but tricky to get to - and when we arrived it was deserted which is about all we needed to know... The decor looks like a nightclub mens toilet - the service was reluctant, the first course arrived wrong and was changed sullenly, then the mains arrived.
I had the Andouillette - which I'm sure was a good one - but the characteristic stench of pigs colon is enough to put most off - the compaint I have is about the salad - which looked straight out of an old packet with a squirt of cheap dressing on - not exactly the balsamic vinegar dressing as described in the menu.
He had the burger. Oh dear. Avoid this restaurant chain!
It arrived on a stale bun that fell apart when he picked it up - and was 2 x dry and overcooked beef patties on a bit of melted cheese. Nothing else! Compare the picture on the menu with the reality and you will see what I mean, when he asked for his bacon, the burger with a bite out was taken away, and a single round of bacon was eventually added and the plate returned. No apology, no attempt at satisfying the customer - the staff seemed mainly occupied sniggering away at private jokes as they hid behind the bar area so as not to have to do any work.
This was the first and last time we ever eat in a La Boucherie - we know Blois, and regretted not going over the road to the Hippopotamus - and certainly will do next time...
