“A tiny hotel , and a delightful find”
Reviewed 28 October 2007

Blois was our first stop after arriving in France From Australia.
The hotel is located on a small street just beside the river, very quaint, , rooms are smallish but adequate. Their restarant served local cuisine , and was well priced and very good. Stairs to 1st floor rooms are steep, , and i think there were only about 7 or 8 rooms in total.
Couldnt fault it and it was a great start to out time in France

Location
Great, just by the river, with a small parking lot right in front and on a quiet small street. Depending on the room you get (we stayed in two different ones) you will get a river view. And Blois is a perfect base for exporing the Loire Valley, right on the middle of the action.

Price
It was really fair for the nice place and location. To get any more than that you'd have to go to a fancy hotel.

Service
The two guys we spoke to were really nice to us and accommodating with our needs. The service standard was better than average, that's for sure.
There was also a restaurant inside but we didn't end up going , it was a little above our price range... But it looked really good!

Room
Not very big but chaming and cozy, very well decorated and maintained. Clean, comfortable and quiet.

I would definetely reccomend this place for the cost/benefit ratio. It's a cozy, charming, well placed little hotel. You can't beat that.

We had a fantastic stay here. Originally arrived for one night but stayed two as the hotel was so good. We were originally in a small room as the hotel was fully booked on the first night. But the owners moved us to a lovely room at the front of the hotel overlooking the Loire river. They moved all our gear for us. They allowed us to park our motorbike inside the gates of the courtyard for safety. We couldn't have been made more welcome. The fresh brioche served at breakfast is wonderful. Great place, lovely staff and the local beer served in reception is another plus. Good location for access the town centre.

  • Liked — Cosy atmosphere and location
  • Disliked — Lack of full bar
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask for a room on the first floor at the front overlooking the Loire

Nestled back from the road that follows the bank of the Loire—a five minute walk to the Blois châteaux—the Côté Loire is hidden behind foliage of the tree that shades the square.
