“need staff training”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Totally unhelpful evening reception staff on two occasions We were forced to stop here. Even though people were on duty they refused to allow usual check-in at the desk. Everyone was queuing to use the machine which was difficult . It took the German people in front of the queue half an hour even though they had a booking number

This is an inexpensive "stop-en-route" hotel more or less half way between Calais and Perpignan. The rooms are clean and adequate, and if you just want one night in a reasonably comfortable bed, this hotel, along with many other similar ones in France, is fine. I've used the hotel once before, booking on-line.
My complaint is this:
This time I booked online, paid upfront with my credit card, and failed (totally my own fault) to read the terms and conditions. When I rung them to see if they would amend my booking in special circumstances - as my friend had medical appointments in England which had been unexpectedly altered - the man on reception was UNSPEAKABLY rude. I don't object to being politely told that I'd failed to read the small print and even that their policy is totally inflexible whatever the circumstances, but I do object to being spoken to harshly, abruptly, as though I have not a jot of intelligence, and finally having the phone call cut suddenly without even a sorry, goodbye or "Bonne journée". I was gobsmacked.
I (against every instinct) rung back because I thought I may have accidentally rebooked for another day, and didn't want to take someone else's space - I thought maybe he'd be nicer second time round - but no luck. He was equally rude, didn't say either thank-you or good-bye, and slammed the phone down on me again. So, I lost the €44, and of course I'll never book there again. Instead I booked in Mr Bed, Bourges - even cheaper and POLITE customer service.

Our expectations were low so we were surprised the bed was so comfy. The room was clean and suited our purpose, somewhere clean to lay your head. Wouldn't advise staying more than one night though. The breakfast was OK and I suppose, again for 4.80 euro we couldn't complain. Wouldn't have a problem staying again on the way through France. Handy for the motorway

It was the worst and most dangerous hotel I've ever stayed in. I'm lucky I didn't get raped! Technically it's not in Bourges. The bathroom walls and floor is made of a plastic shell and encompasses a toilet sink and shower, the toilet door had no lock even though it was a room for 3 people and when you sat on the toilet you can't close the door as it's so small! The receptionist was rude and bad mannered and should be fired!
This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and is perfect for truckers, I've stayed in better hostles! There is no restaurant and if you want to eat you need to cross the motorway and there is no bridge or underpass so if you're hungry either die of starvation or get run over! I paid €65 for this hell hole and my next stop was in the Ibis hotel in Versailles next to the palace which was glorious for the same price! No one should ever stay here!!!

Room Tip: Choose another hotel

We stayed there on the way to a funeral so not a very joyous trip. We arrived very late at the hotel so had to use the automatic check-in. Everything worked well. The room was clean but minuscule. It is a convenient hotel in a convenient location for a one night stay.

Driving to the south of France with our 16 year old disabled Border Terrier, it was important that we found somewhere dog-friendly for a stop-over. Premier Classe are happy to take dogs for a small charge, and will try to make downstairs rooms available if booked early. The rooms have the advantage that they open to the outside (nothing worse than trying to carry a desperate dog down torturous identical corridors and through reception!) Bourges suited us well, the rooms were quite clean and warm, showers hot, breakfast rather basic, but fine and WiFi available. We opted to stay in the same hotel on both trips in both directions this summer simply because they take dogs and the location is ideal for the route we take. Car battery problems on our return journey had the hotel manager trying desperately to avoid us at first, but when we were still there in the rain at 1pm he summoned help (which didn't) and eventually showed us a phone we could use to alert the AA. Sterling help was given by one of the cleaning ladies who took control of the phone and summoned 'assistance'. Overall, an average grade is fair. We'll be staying there again, as it suits our requirements, and is reasonably priced for what's on offer. Just a word of warning...Bourges seems to have it's own eco-climate. Whatever else it's doing in France, in Bourge it rains..and rains..and rains!

Room Tip: Book as early as you can, it gets busy at peak times. (Internet booking is easy and it works), Arriv...

It is a fair way out of Bourges so you would definitely need a car if you want to see the city itself. This hotel was far better than their hotel in Arles and on top of that.. half the price! We paid 24.50 euros per night, great! :)
Very basic, of course but if you need to get some sleep before a long journey, it's a cheap and comfortable and you'll get a hot shower before you go so, happy days!
There is almost no staff there so you are most likely to check in and out electronically, remember to have all your booking details handy!
Can't say I'd stay in any Premiere Classe hotels ever again but for 25 euros per night, it is value for money!
